I don't agree. I don't Jon is trying to be young or hip. I think his current music is age appropriate. And I think once a band "matures" its over. The age limit has been raised on that.
Jon's studio voice still has a youthful tone, well sometimes.
Jon / Jon and Richie wrote almost all tracks on Faith and TDs. And then Desmond assisted on a few which is fine. That's what needs to happen again. Too many outside influences trying to write a hit. They are not real and lack passion. Too manufactured.
But for an album that is going no where, its easy. Jon doesn't have to write as much for an album or as many songs. The rest is in the production. And the result is everything we got Post 2K.
Until Jon and Richie hash this out, they cant even begin a new album because they need Richies writing. Obviously. I don't think Jon would even try to release music under the Bon Jovi name without Richie.
Jon should use other outlets besides radio. Movies is the way to go but first, he needs to learn how to release a kick ass song again.
