Default In America - Demo

Anyone know the lyrics?

I could make out.... Oh yea, alright, I was ---- in America.

Could someone edit the sound to enhance the vocals more?

It sounds like it was recorded in the same fashion and maybe even on the same day as "House Of Fire"

Same drum sound with very faint vocals. Makes me even wonder if it was for New Jersey or if Jon was just doing a demo of it for another artist. It could have been another outtake for Alice Cooper's album. You know, the one Richie wrote all the hits for. Lol

''Yea I wrote alot of hits for Alice'' ))).
I found this song a few months ago, probably in January or February and i was disappointed that there wasn't a version with decent quality just like I was disappointed when i heard House of Fire which imo has better instruments on BJs version. The song has a very cathy rhytm,I remember playing it in the back of my head almost all day long and I kept huming ''america america''.Anyways my motherboard has Realtek HD Audio Manager and I can modify the sound on my speakers and headphones (only a little bit) but I can't actually modify the song so others can listen to it like that...

At 1:36 I think he says ''Here we are(x3) in America''
1:19 I think he shouts something like ''Oh I'm coming home,I'm going home in America,America''
I listened to the whole song alot of times but unfortunately those are the only parts I understand

I still hope that one day we are going to get all the recorded demos from NJ,KTF,TD and SWW,especially Revenge which turned to KTF and The Right to Walk Away which became BOR(at least that's what I've heard).

Thanks man! I've seen alot of different enhansements lately and thought I'd ask.

As far as getting Revenge, I don't even think it was ever recorded. I think they switched during the writing process.

Remind me when Right to Walk Away became BOR? I never heard that.

I saw that The Right To Walk Away became BOR here
http://enminipedia.referata.com/wiki/Bon_Jovi_Outtakes

and I read the same thing on other sites but I can't remember their names.
I am not sure that this information is accurate,I watched all the 1992 interviews but didn't heard Jon claim that.

During one of the promo interviews for KTF Jon stated this, but I honestly have no idea when or where this exactly was since there were like a few hundred during that period.

Not to be confused with their Heart of America, which they performed at Farm Aid in 1985:

Another great one. Would love a studio version of this on the next Box (that we'll never get)...I do however have a great audio soundboard of this live version.

Back on topic, I just recently discovered how great the song In America actually is. I always took it for an instrumental until I listened to it through head phones. After 30 times in a row of focusing on the vocals, there are some great medleys in there. Only a die-hard could appreciate it but that's why I was hoping for some lyrics or someone to remove the sound and enhance the vocals more to bring them out.

The vocals are so low and awfully drowned in that mix that it's simply impossible to get them without the instruments. Even in a proper studio mix that's quite hard to do.

I figured as much.

Just to clarify, I'm not looking for song improvements. Just for someway to get the vocals, even if it means destroying everything else. Or some kind of way to digitize it to make them sound robotic.

But yea, they are seriously drowned in so I agree. I thought I'd just give it a shot. Thanks!

Kind of a goofy, laid-back song that perfectly "sums up" the 80's era. Catchy hook, but it's obvious it wasn't album track material. Plus it had the "brush my teeth" line 32 years before Limitless
