I like David's version alot. I remember the first time I heard it being a little surprised by how much I liked it. It is hard to say what I prefer though because they are so different. Dave's is so stripped down, just vocals and piano.. I do like after the piano solo how he slows it all down with the "And these are my words they keep me strong.. Baby.... Baby.... Baby now... " and the ending. WOW.. it's a pretty passionate performance.
The band version though is up there in my top Jovi songs of all time. I SOOO wanted to see it live this summer! I love the emotion Jon puts into the song, both on the album and live versions. And the video has always been one of my favorites too (it might have have something to do w. Jon crawling around on his hands and knees) but mostly it's just such a good song.
If I have to choose I am going with band version... probably because it is the first version I loved.
But congratulate yourself Bongo because reading this makes me want to go get out my David CD and listen to his version. It's been a while since I have listened to it...(Don't scold me LOL!)

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3
