A little request:

Give Richie back the solo. Let Bobby play anything else. He can even play the solo to 'Livin' On A Prayer' or something but Richie does this solo much better and it'd freshen the song up again to do so.

One of my favourite songs of all time and an amazing video as well.

I would love for David to perform his version, just him and a piano/keyboard, during one of the shows. Maybe not in a stadium, but I think it would work just as brilliantly as Halleluja (is it spelled that way?) does.

you beat me to it.

was about to make a thread about how i just put this song on and got shivers up my spine.

shivers up your spine even though you have listened to them every single day for 15 years?!

that shows the strength of their music alone

great rock/radio/love song for all sorts of people. GREAT GREAT GREAT!

I agree 100%. I don't know about Bobby playing the Prayer solo, but I wouldn't mind him doing a solo on, say It's My Life. Richie's solo is much better and more fitting for this song. I don't see why Jon even wanted to add Bobby. There are PLENTY of other great guitarists out there, and I especially don't understand why Jon feels the need to give Bobby a solo. He's a backup guitarist, why does he need a solo? What about Dave? He NEVER gets solos, yet he's an official member. See a hole there?

Anyway, I love this song. The lyrics are great, and it sounds great live (minus the solo).

I was just throwing 'Prayer' out there to show how desperately I want Richie back on 'In These Arms' haha.

I agree with you, though. We need Richie back doing the solo. Let Bobby have something else if need be.

Milwaukee 06. I think this is one of the last, if not THE last show where Richie does the solo.

Thumbs up

I'm new here and have to jump in, and apologies to Rob who implied there were too many ITA threads though I haven't read the others yet.

I just wanted to say In These Arms is my ****ing favorite BJ song ever and one of my favorite songs in general and I don't even want to list how much music I've heard in my current 30 years on earth.

I'm aware that David Bryan had a big hand in writing it, and that his version exists, and have even heard his version which seems a subdued affair, but to me it's the power harmonizing in the chorus that makes the song, along with the damn melody and bassline which just KILL me.

I usually listen to it 3 times in a row and can't get away without jumping up and down like a psycho.

I briefly read about the BOBITA thing which made me laugh (happily). I like BOB, but it's the ITA that makes me smile about the whole thing.

I'm glad there are others who like it because few people I know even remotely know the song, and a few-- when exposed to it-- have been incomprehensibly underwhelmed. This is THE power anthem chorus by a band known for power anthem choruses, so it's a bit bewildering to me that there are people who don't find it as catchy.

I always knew some people 'get' it. I was first exposed to the song when I was 11 on my school bus, when the older kids played it over and over on the way home. I know that it was a single, but I also know it doesn't have that many views on Youtube. The main thing for all this? I got into BJ when Cross road came out and I was 13, and this was the song I liked best. Then a few years later they rereleased (?) Cross Road and KICKED OUT only ITA and replaced it with that Prayer thing. It would have been the biggest kick in the balls if I had a pair.
