on, i maybe can shed some light when it comes to the singles .
no1 =misunderstood is not a bad move even if it bombs, look at the lyrics on the last 6 singles , real life, its my life, say it isnt so, thank you for lovin me, one wild night, everyday, the choruses use the same lyrical hook,
THE RHYME SCHEME, although meaningfull ,still the same hook.
most listeners tend towards lyrics, although bon jovi continue to deliver quality, repitition can harm listeners. misunderstood = great chance of success + a change. well needed if bounce or undivided shall fall next.

no2=the great bands have always had success pushing limits of the radio , look at u2, the stones, etc. i think misunderstood will at least ( probably even exceed more ) pushing these limits.

i think we as fans shouldnt look towards charts , i dont know about you but the music i listen to is for me, not the nextoor neighbour , who cares what single he buys i care what i buy , and god knows i can relate to being misunderstood
