is always about love or stalking?

It's a song about attachment to a love-lost and constains some of Jon's best lyrics...I'm convinced most people just completely miss their meaning.

I don't care what Jon said....I'm not buying it because the lyrics do NOT support his claims...and for him to pull this out of his arse 10 years later.....uh uh.

However....he's justified in finding it amusing that anyone would use it as their wedding song. It just goes to show how blindly people run around in the world.

The chrous of always would make an ideal wedding song, I think the lyrics fit perfectly. I reckon the whole song is about unrequited love (although the video suggests different). I just think Jon made that whole "stalker" story up for Bogarta. He certainly never mentioned it being about a stalker when Always was released.

when singers tell you the reasons behidn their stories, they can be lies half truths and downright bullshit.

It tells a better story and gets a little laugh if you say people think this is a love song but its actually about a stalker than if you say, people think this is a love song and it is.

It is both. Of course it is a love song, the stalker loves the one who is meant in the song. It is an obsessed love.

By the way, Romeo is mentioned because originally the song was written for the movie "Romeo is bleeding".

It is completely irrelevant what a song was written for. The lyrics do not support a stalker motive - the end. If he truly wanted to write a stalker song, he failed miserably.

having difficulty letting go, doesn't make one a stalker and I don't find any reference of him following her. Definitely not a stalker song - even though he wanted to write one - now If I was your Mother would classify much easier as a stalker song.

it seems to me that people don't know the difference between stalkers and broken hearted. There IS a difference. Many people have lost someone precious, but that doesn't mean everybody becomes a stalker.
