is always about love or stalking?

I am not saying whether the lyrics support the stalker theory or not, but Jon talked about this a long time ago. It wasn't 10 years later.

The only statements I've seen by him in the past had to do with the fact that people were making it out to be a song about love, playing it at their weddings, and how ridiculous it was because the song is not about that.

But I've never heard him use the "stalker" interpretation until more recently.

Maybe I am wrong then, but I swear that I have heard him say this before.

It's possible....it's not like I actually keep up on everything he says past and present. I just didn't personally come across that until recently. Bottom line though...the lyrics just don't support it. There have been plenty of times where a song writer will state the meaning of the song and word for word...the song lyrics come together to hold up to the definition given. Not true in this case. The lyrics portray completely normal mourning behavior in someone who doesn't let go emotionally so easily.

this line speaks to spousal abuse to my mind, the subject of the song is a sick and twisted individual

I think you are taking it way out of context...nothing speaks of spousal abuse. They had good and bad times like very relationship. One photo contains damning evidence that ended the relationship...such as an affair.

If this is sick and twisted...then that means most people who have suffered the end of a relationship and haven't let go emotionally are sick and twisted.

It just isn't that simple.

'One that made you have to say goodbye'. Is this about a photo? There's no photo at all with Jack and the other girl kissing. It's a videotape. Or is that similar to you?

and indeed, it's not sick and twisted. Everybody feels that way when a relationship has ended (at least when the other one left).

with regard to the picture mentioned. A friend of mine just mentioned that the intended picture might be the painting the guy made of her naked figure.

Despite the fact that I disagree with Purist, I just have to say, the video is a promo video for the song, it's not intended to show the exact meaning behind the song, don't take the video as being the 'truth'.

I feel a good song is something you can apply to persoanl situations, and if the lyrics are suitably vague, is open to interpretation. I think Always is a bit twisted, but not in a violent way or anything. In an extremely desperate love way, like an all consuming love

I think we are discussing lyrics (ie words to a song) not somebodies interpretation in picture format.
