JBJ wrote this song for a 1994 movie called Bleeding Romeo, which is a movie about stalking.
Almost correct. The film is called "Romeo Is Bleeding".

I don't believe it's about a stalker or at least not to me regardless that Jon said it was. I think it's about a guy obsessed with a love that he basically threw away. The video never comes to mind when I hear this song. The reference to pictures to me is just a reference to memories of good times and bad and the last memory is bad and was the final straw in a relationship gone bad.

I don't dispute it at all. That may be how he sees the song but I don't. People interpret songs differently regardless of what the artist says.

I still say he's full of it and just over dramatized the song beyond it's original meaning and intent in response to the fact that people DO choose it for inappropriate occasions. Obviously most people have latched on to this idea and now believe it.......have any of you ever exagerrated something cuz you think it makes it more interesting, especially when it didn't get people's attention the way you intended with the original presentation?

I say most of you are being suckered in and could easily see this if you really examine the lyrics....and if you start referring to the video at any point....stop....start over.....and forget the stupid f**king video! Jon didn't direct the video and the producer wasn't interested in making a video that told the song's story..they wanted eye candy that teens would eat up and rush out to buy Crossroad. The video is adolescent, ridiculously immature slop. Use your mind and don't see what isn't there. The song and it's lyrics are the only materials you need to be examining.....and so far....no one has come up with any good examples of the song's lyrics that support this alternate interpretation without stretching it.

Yes....listeners very often have their own interpretation of what a song is about vs the song writer's personal intent. But in those examples...when the writer does honestly offer up the intended interpretation ....a review of that song's lyrics and structure is met with instant recognization. Everything jumps out at you and you can clearly see what they intended without having to stretch it to fit the interpretation...even if it wasn't what you interpreted. That isn't the case with this song. Take Cyndi Lauper's She Bop and Madonna's Secret. Both are about masturbation. Now read the lyrics. It's just there...you don't have to try to make the song fit into the framework of the interpretation. It just fits perfectly like a hand in a glove.

Like Spunky was saying....if Jon really did intend for this song to be about a stalker.....he failed.
