Spot on. I think its imperative they have a shake up with regards to producers etc. I agree with whoever said Rick Rubin, that's a very good shout.

I do think, they need to knock it on the head for a while before writing again, and drop the political mumbo jumbo.

the band will always make records; fans will stick by the band...regards to what a small population think of the last few albums, sales arent everything. its been said before, its the times not the band,

Am 23 y/o and have enjoyed every album they have released and listen to every album with a different light. I have had WAN in my car since it came out, and havnt stopped listening, the same with past albums...

end the hate, begin more love

Rubin would be good. I've thought this for GNR too. They could get back to their roots like Death Magnetic and Black Sabbath.

why does this band even bother to tour north america when they clearly don't play anything from their new albums. A tour is meant to promote your album, how else do you expect people to get to buy it if you don't play it. I'm sick of hearing the same show each tour. Barely played anything from The Circle on that tour and now barely anything from What About Now.

Just rename this tour the 'North American Greatest Hits Tour 2009-present'. Same songs over and over. Well atleast my other fav band promotes their new songs when they tour, Metallica played 8 new songs from Death Magnetic. Guns N' Roses played 9 new songs from Chinese Democracy. Sure GNR doesn't have as many albums as Bon Jovi but they could have easily played a 2002 setlist if they wanted

I wish they would have sold some of the new songs a bit more. What About Now went over like a wet fart. A bit of extra animation on the screen, and Jon out on the catwalk could have given the song a selling point in the live sets.

At least Water got the opening slot and extended outtro, which sold that one quite nicely. Because We Can had a little singalong, and actually did go over ok most of the time.

Would have loved to have seen Beautiful World or even Pictures Of You, much easier to get a crowd into an upbeat track they don't know. What's Left Of Me should have got played more, and it would have been nice if they added Room and Thick As Thieves into the IBT4U/Roses/Amen/Memory slow section rotation.

Bit disappointed I only got 4 new songs over the course of 3 shows- I actually like the album, and would have liked to have heard 6 or 7 of them. They should have played more of them and then dump them after this tour like they usually do

I don't think that any producer could change the album that drastically as some of you guys are suggesting. Sure they could definetly improve the arrangments but, it really has to come from the band. And they're at a point in their career that, they know what it is they want, whoever they hire will be to do just that. Maybe Jon should take that approach he took to his solo songs and the slow songs on WAN and adapt it to the Rock songs. Make the entire album a more organic, less loopy, more roots oriented type of rock record. That's something I could really enjoy, maybe Jon wouldn't go for it but, Brendan O'Brien would be just perfect for it. He gets the sound sonically of a band jamming away, and also lets them be who they are without meddling too much. I could also say Rick Parashar, but I'm not sure. His tracks on HAND could be just his way of working within the confines of a record that was already 90% done....

I don't see them being content as a nostaliga act, some already say they are. Most of the money however is made from touring, so just an album is not the income they have all become accustomed to have. Lately, it's all many of us can afford. I need an album fix. ( I think, especially Jon, want's HOF so badly - I think they should have had it years ago btw, its seems to allude them and they/he keep pushing for the "see me" effect.) HOF in Euro but not in your own country?

Can't believe I just sat here and had the affect/effect debate in my head. Gottagetalife!

Bon Jovi is a nostalgia band, and the quicker Jon realises this, the more happy everyone will be.

By Bon Jovi's definition of "Nostalgia" they are no where near that point!

Having number 1 albums and number tours is not being "Nostalgic". Also, having their most recent song nominated for a Golden Globe award is another point for them.

Just to clarify what Jon means by Nostalgic....

Playing small Amphitheatre with other similar opening acts to help push attendance sales. No new material to promote because past releases failed on EVERY level. Strictly relying on a back catalog of hits to fill an hours worth of playing time.

Bon Jovi are not relying on their Greatest Hits to push attendance sales.

Bad album sales are a problem across the entire industry right now. One of the problems with illegal downloading is, you can't track it. Using David Bowie as an example and comparison, they could have similar album sales but Bon Jovi might have had more illegal downloads because of the age Demographics of Bon Jovi fans and popularity. Most Die-Hards buy albums and most casual fans download them illegally. Jovi and Bowie could both have the same amount of die-hards but Jovi might have more casuals however, it's untraceable.
