I absolutely agree, nothing can top that rush!

Aerosmith and The Stones are nostalgia acts? Right...

...neither band are close to being a nostalgia act. A nostalgia act, in my view anyway, is a band/artist who joins forces with similar acts to tour small theatres up and down the country sharing the same billing. Examples include Whitesnake, Thunder, Journey etc. Bands in desperate need of another payout to keep their fragile rock 'n' roll dream alive. Bands that pedal any old crap to make a bit of money, who cares if its exactly x amount of years since you released that song nobody gave two hoots about till some terrible show shoved it down everybody's throats. That my friends is nostalgia.

Aerosmith and The Stones may release music sporadically these days but still they sell out arenas and stadiums worldwide. That is not nostalgia, these bands have incredible pulling power. By Jovitalk's definition any band that plays a set of 75% old material or 'the hits' is a nostalgia act. That's piss poor.

With regards to Bon Jovi I think Jon realises how poor the last album was, hence why the same three songs are played every night. I'm almost certain that if Bon Jovi sort out the internal issues and tour again nothing from this album will see the light of day again. Water possibly might get the odd outing but that's it.

For the record I thought the above song absolutely stank the place out at Hyde Park, complete lead balloon.

'That's What The Water Made Me' is excellent live and should become a staple for any future tours.

Is Jon sponsoring you on this forum or are you genuinely that easily pleased?

Assuming Richie comes back of course. Gone are the heady days of NJ, KTF and TD, hell even Bounce and HAND are bonafide classics next to the last two albums. I wouldn't have a problem if they toured every 2/3 years and just dug into the vast catalogue of material from the last 30 years.

Thoughts?
I disagree, I think The Circle is a very good album, an album that would be a LOT better if it was produced by some other guy than Shanks like Peter Collins or even the guy who produced half of LH (Any Other Day for example).

Brokenpromisseland is awesome, very creative song btw.

The Circle's OK, nothing more though IMO. I do agree that Brokenpromiseland along with LTOR and Superman are very, very good songs but that doesn't make up for the overall quality thats lacking.

Re-evaluating my original question, they probably do have another great album in them when you consider the above songs along with cut's from other post 2000 albums, for example Next 100 Years, The Distance, Misunderstood, Last Man Standing, Story Of My Life, Any Other Day and I'm With You. That being said we all know if there's another record it will be more of the same.

Whatever happens I don't think they should commit anything new to tape for a few years. Personally I'd like to see an Anthology set with a tour in 2015. The guy's need time away.

They need to stop making albums with the current production. Go back to the drawing board Jon and take Richie with you and stop looking for critical acclaim by trying to re-write other peoples songs.

Bounce and Lost Highway are my favorite albums. Call me crazy but I love every song on those from start to finish.

Their the last two really good albums the band has produced. It took me a while to appreciate Bounce, I think I took it for granted a little when it came it. I actually remember buying it on release day and being really disappointed but over time my attitude has changed. There's a really good organic feel to the album IMO.

With Lost highway it was the opposite, I loved it from day one. I remember thinking at the time how I thought it was the best album since These Days. It probably is TBH, the songs are well crafted and the album flows really well. That being said I hate hearing Lost Highway songs live.

No, they shouldn't stop making albums, although the last album is a disgrace. But they shouldn't rush it. The guys showed with "The Circle", that they still have good music in them. And I agree with all the people who say that the producer should be changed (I strongly believe that "The Circle" would have been even better with a better producer).
