is ''its my life'' an old song?

my mate said his parents heard this song way before its release in 2000, so i was wondering if Jon or someone released this before

I've heard OF a song with the same title, I think Bon Jovi sang it during the 1992 MTV An Evening With Bon Jovi show, but I haven't heard it, so don't know.

I don't think it's the same song though.

theres been many songs called 'its my life' but if they are on about that actual song then im not sure...i wouldnt call it an old song, the crush era is still bedding in abit i think...to me old, is anythign pre faith.

Whatever song they are talking about, it's not the same one as Bon Jovi's.

The one Bon Jovi used to perform and did at Evening With Bon Jovi was the Animals.

There is another one done by Wendy O Williams written by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS in 1982. It was intended for their Creatures of the Night album. They re did it for Psycho Circus in 1998, but it again was not chosen and wound up in the box set.

When IML was realeased they did a short interview with Jon and Richie called Box Talk on The Box music channel. I think I remember Richie saying, we tried It's My Life lots of times, but it really paid off on this album. I don't know what he means by that, but maybe he means they wrote it along time ago, and played it live a few times before. I dunno, I'll leave you lot to draw your own conclusions, but Richie definately said something like that.

I think he mean they've written songs with that title before. They've used the title Open All Night before as well, but it was a different song. Jon said elsewhere that IML was the last song written for Crush.
