I still can't stand how jon bon jovi could have been angered with his own life....they were the biggest band on earth, still on top of the world, he had wife and child and all the money life can brings.....

I don't think that Jon being sad is the answer. And I don't think TD is really the best record out there. Honestly, I don't really care for "serious" Bon Jovi. To me, it's not what they're about. The pain conveyed in These Days actually comes across as very fake to me. And I can see why since the band members were in a happy time of their lives. Crush and Bounce (yeah, like they're the same album) may be the least liked Bon Jovi albums (though there are still plenty of closeted Crush and/or Bounce fans out there), but at leased they're honest albums. At least that's my opinion. So no, Jon being sad isn't the answer. Maybe Jon writing about feelings that he's not really feeling is the answer.

I can think of PLENTY of reasons for him to be angry. He basically sold his soul to the record companies. Loss of privacy. It all became a bit machine at that point, hence the firing of Doc and the management team. To me, it's completely understandable that he was so pissed off.

I think you missed my point. Let's face it, none of us were in Jons shoes at the time. It's well known they keep the private stuff private. Maybe it's worse than all of us know, maybe not. I can easily see both sides of the point. whatever.

just cos your rich and succesful doesnt mean you forever lose sad feelings. Kurt Cobain was as big as it gets... didnt work for him. Bob Dylan went threw depression... theres many examples... I think once your at the top the only way is down.

Exactly. No matter what we see in the public, we'll never know everything about the man. I'm NOT in any way making any implications about Jon when I say this--just a general statement--but there are some things in life that no matter how much money, success, fame, or good things come your way can still drag you down.

And the fact that he'd spent virtually every moment from '84-'89 on the road probably got to him quite a bit ... uncertainty about the future of the band. That sorta thing

There is an old saying - be careful what you wish for - you might get it. In this case I think Jon and the rest of the band got their wish many times over. It doesn't surprise me that what happened was so overwhelming that they didn't like the direction their lives were taking - hence hating what your life had become.
