Ok, I do agree with some of what you said, mainly how KTF and TD are the best albums and how these new songs do represent a move back towards that style of writing, which can only be a good thing and I do agree that when Jon seems a bit pissed off or disalousioned, he dose seem to write his best lyrics. However alot of what you said is totally wrong.

Jon has said many times that the grey period of his life was from 90-91. Now some of those feelings may have influenced songs on KTF but that is clearly the most optimistic album the band has ever made, so I totally disagree that Jon has to be on a downer to write good songs.

Jon and Richie have said many times that they are shocked at how dark These Days turned out to be because they wrote it at one of the happiest times in their lives.

I also strongly disagree about what you said regarding Crush and Bounce.

Interesting theory but it dosen't hold to much weight with me.


Phil
