I blame Virgin trains for one thing... They took me all around that beautiful country and made me fall in love with all of it, and made it possible for me to see BJ. Hmh. Stupid company, they should stop operating!

(they should still stop operating)

my point is just that in an ideal world you could have chosen which company you wanted to go around the UK with and got there much quicker with better service

having no competition doesn't even encourage them to keep on their toes or to improve standards - because they set the standards, since there's noone else to do it
