I couldn't tell whether he was serious or just talking non-sense or even hitting on me. You can't tell these days, he's definitely on some kind of substance... but it almost feels like anti-depressants. Anyway, there are some remnants of the charming guitar-slinger cowboy he used to be...but not many. Time...
Thanks for the update. When I met Richie at the ALS gig in SF last July, I got the same impression as you seem to have. I'm not a pro when it comes to substance abuse, but it seemed to me like he was kinda "floating" if that makes sense. I didn't talk to him much beyond, "nice to meet you" but I watched his interactions with others. The charm was still there, more in the 1:1 conversations than in groups or on stage, where he got more blustering and OTT, which comes across as annoying to so many but looks to me like a shield to hide insecurities behind. Maybe I give him too much credit, though.

I think time is part of it, but what it seems like to me, with both Jon and Richie, is that they bring out the best and strongest traits in each other when they're together, and the worst and weakest traits when they're at odds. I think Richie's random outlandish behavior and poor performances may be the result of potential "self-medicating" because that's his way of coping with life turned kaddi-wampus after the split; and Jon's way of coping with it is to freeze out all the emotions, maintain the 'image', keep the wheels spinning, and try to ignore the fact that he's scared shitless because the bottom dropped out and his self-confidence took a hike when Richie did. JMO.

Finally, this website is absolutely horrific. How do you people post with so much spam everywhere? Not enjoyable.
Thanks for the update.

My VPN seems to make this site usable; I get porn pop-ups or some kind of virus warning otherwise.

Well said Jackie!!

Can we imagine a miracle happening in the HOF cerimony? Capitain Kidd having his voice back and the King of Swing showing up to play?

Man, I miss these guys together.

This thread has been a fun read. It’s been so many years ago, I almost forget how wild our boys were back then...

I use a script blocker.

Still it is incredible unprofessional and sketchy for a website to be ridden with malware and its like.
