Kathleen's right- not that Obie isn't an utter scumbag for what he did, and not that he isn't a piece of trash in about every endeavor he seems to be involved in (and yeah, someone should see if the girl has the sense of vision). But, bottomline, this is history and kind of silly to have a whole new firestorm about.

Things are not that black and white. You don't find out news like that and just kick some one to the curb. It's WAY more complicated than that and isn't really something that we have all the details on. Nor should we, it's really none of our business.

I'm not condoning statutory rape but your original point seemed to be "If a wife is cheated on, she's pathetic not to leave him". I happen to personally see that as being a very narrow view of the world. As for 15-year-old girls having sex, I know there were quite a few I went to school with who were sexually active by then, and several with older boyfriends (albeit not as old as Obie) so it's not that far fetched.

Well he was convicted in a court of law It's not that he was only charged with that offense, he was sentenced so it's completely black and white

The law is anything but black and white because some laws are outdated. Just watch a couple of episodes of Law & Order and you'd see that the law is anything but black and white.

This has been addressed already, but do you actually know what paedophilia is? It sure as hell has nothing to do with 15 year olds, unless they're the ones committing the offence. Where the age of consent is 16 .... obviously a boundary has to be set somewhere for the protection of young people, and yeah, he did break the law and was punished for it, but I hardly think that it makes him a contemptible human being because he had sex with a girl slightly younger than what I consider the appropriate age of consent ... especially since we don't know the details
