Not even close...

Best I could do was...

This House Is Not For Sale
A Teardrop In The Sea
We Don't Run
Superman Tonight
Labour Of Love
That's What The Water Made Me
What's Left Of Me
Who Would You Die For
Fingerprints
The Devil's In The Temple
Scars On This Guitar
I'm Your Man
I Will Drive You Home

No. Not even close.

I came up empty trying to make a list with quality lyrics AND music that sounds like real instruments being played AND the right vocal delivery AND passion. That's what TD is for me.

I could make a short list with some songs that fit one or two requirements, but I'd hardly call them masterpieces. To be fair I wouldn't call anything from Crush to LH a masterpiece either.

We Have:
The Circle
Greatest Hits Tracks (including This Is Our House)
What About Now (including Burn With Me)
Burning Bridges (including Beautiful Day)
This House Is Not for Sale
This House Is Not for Sale: Bonus Tracks

List 10 to 12 songs that you think could make it. Not just a greatest hits but more so an album balance.
Hahaha no chance. No chance at all. But........
If any tracks are These Days-ish then they come from BB - With Teardrop & Die For

Actually, WWYDF and Fingerprints are their only TD-level tracks since the TD album for me:

https://youtu.be/AB67pA-82Ew

https://youtu.be/2reavl_l9f0

However, this about is the best album I could make out of post-LH BJ stuff overall:

1. THINFS
2. Saturday/Sunday
3. Water
4. Superman
5. Bullet
6. We Don't Run
7. Roller Coaster
8. Who Would You Die For
9. Fingerprints
10. The Devil's In The Temple
11. Teardrop
12. Pictures Of You
13. Love's The Only Rule
I agree with WWYDF but why Fingerprints? The only good part of the song is the solo at the end,if the song didn't have that solo It'll be a filler at best.

Agree. The song bar the solo is pure dirge

I tried to put something together with roughly the same type of songs in the same places as on These Days:

1. The Devil's In The Temple
2. We Don't Run
3. Scars On This Guitar
4. Brokenpromiseland
5. Fingerprints
6. Who Would You Die For
7. Living With The Ghost
8. Teardrop To The Sea
9. Superman Tonight
10. Love's The Only Rule
11. Thorn In My Side
12. The Fighter

Bonus tracks:

13. Happy Now or I'm With You or Bullet
14. Room At The End Of The World

Certainly not anywhere near the standard of These Days, but still pretty good I think

Fingertips is cool as a composition but it is rather dully performed.

And that is the overall reason why anyway we can't get a TD out of these songs : Capt Warlus's list is quite decent but it would need to be performed and recorded (produced) by the band in the state they were at '94-'95 to make something that would touch the greatness of TD.

Honest question: If it wasn't for the lyrics and the subject matter, would you really call Living With The Ghost a "dark" song? Because musically it's about as dark as Pictures Of You.

WHERE is the "like" button I want to hit so badly!

The only song that could possibly be of the caliber of TD in recent years is "Who Would You Die For?".

"Fingerprints" and "Bullet" are super decent too.

I agree with the statement that the band's skills and caliber were in a better place during TD, which made the songs that much better.

I think they would write better vocal melodies now, if Jon were able to hit higher notes. So now the songs are boring, vocally.
