^^ yeah i have that version too. Jon's voice is also better mixed in it, esp the verses. A bit less but like it was done on the I believe radio edit (clearmountain mix) where Jon's voice was also more 'upfront' in the verses.

No they're not, the solo's are different and the longer solo is cut. There are more guitars though, and Richie liked the radio edit more than the album version.

I'm not talking about the radio edit. And trust me, the solo is the same lenght in the one I'm referring to.

No it's not. I have the same CD single here, the one from Japan. It has an edit on it, lasts 6 minute and 37 seconds and the solo is cut at 4:25 and at 4:50. It's missing the part from 6:12 to 6:28 of the album version.

Have fun comparing them and you'll find out that I'm right.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Seb. The 'gold edition' it has three songs on it. Dry County, Stranger In This Town live and Blood Money live. Dry county lasts 9min 39 sec. In the album version it is 9min 52 sec. The only difference in lenght is that the album version has a longer outro... The solos are the same

I always thought the gold edition was a two disc release featuring six songs (3 on each disc).

The Japanese single I have isn't the gold release but has the same six songs on it:

Dry County (radio edit) - 6:36
Stranger In This Town (Live)
Blood Money (Live)
Dry County (Live)
Waltzing Matilda (Live)
It's Only Rock and Roll (Live)

Yes it is two cd's, 3 songs on each. The gold edition doesn't have the radio edit. That is where the confusion is coming in then...

You are telling me that the Radio edit of Dry County is a different mix with a different solo? I know it is shortened like hell, and I quite like it still, but that would be big news for me. I always thought it sounded more powerful, but different? I will check it when I'm back from lunch.

The Japanese 6 track CD Single has the 'Clearmountain Mix' Radio Edit (6+ Minutes), as does the European Digipack CD Single.

The UK Digipack CD Single has the full 'Clearmountin Mix' (9+ Minutes) Same length as the album version.

The second UK CD Single features the Live version.
