That's probably why they keep talking about their upcoming solo albums (Richie), movie roles (Jon) or the football team (both) in every interview and every chance they get?

Er, yes, but that's because they'd been on the road for 4 years, instead of the 3 months they tour nowadays.

Why do people declare the end of the band every time they release something new?

DAMN YA"LL DONE SCARE ME TO DEATH!!!!!!

I thought it was really the end of the world because as I saw this thread I was listening to Nina Gordon's End of the world, and at that very same time my brother arrived and he had R.E.M's the end of the world as we know it blasting in his car.
Was it all just coincidence??

When was the last time Richie released a solo album?
Has Jon's movie roles kept him from the band at all?
Has the football team kept him from the band at all?

This thread is about "the end of the band", hence the title of the thread. Jon's been doing movies and running the football team for the past 3 years just fine. In that time, he released "This Left Feels Right", the box set, and a new album with the band. Clearly, none of this side work is keeping him from the band.

But thanks for the sarcastic response.

No I don't think it's the end but let's hope for some great days ahead.

Not sure about you, but I can only handle one more-than-full-time job. I am certain the same is true for ueber-Jon.

Regardless of my abilities, Jon has repeatedly said that his focus is on the football team right now and he has said the same about his acting.

Actually, he recently said he was having to take steps to scale down his involvement in the team because it was time to focus on the music again. He said it was hard for the control freak part of him to step back and let someone else handle things.
