To me, that just comes across as someone that wants in politics because they are power hungry, and that is just worse type of politician IMO.
But then again, he hasn't actually run for office yet, so I'll reserve my judgment until he does and actually starts talking about position on the issues, and I think you should too, after all there are several Democratic members of the tea party. You never know.
Also, tax payers didn't pay for Jon's trip, that was paid for by the Obama reelection campaign which is privately funded.

No the Obama re-election fund paid for the price of a first class ticket they never pay for the actual costs of Air Force One for political events (not a slam on Obama it is with all Presidents). Air Force One costs one heck of a lot more to run that the price of a ticket. The 30 minute jaunt cost tax payers over 1 million dollars.
I don't care about his politics at all - he can want whatever he wants. In business he is the ultimate capitalist that's for sure. I am a Libertarian - I think both parties suck the only difference between them is one wants to spend more of my money than the other.
My beef with him is the tax payer funded trip - it pisses me off. For a person running around saying he is working class it was really a stupid stunt IMHO. But even with that I did not trust Richie would be at the show so I did not go. And after this latest I was right.
And I don't blame Jon for this - Richie bailed yet again. I am tired of him his demons his whatevers - short of an issue with his daughter then he needs to put on his big girl panties and live up to his obligations.
How many venues will be excited to book them again when two tours in a row he bailed?
