They're running out of ideas I guess. But that doesn't matter as long as the music is great.

Default no problem here

So many of their songs have been an inspiration to me but sometimes these words need to be drilled in my head. It's nice to hear them over and over. I like the tunes, melodies, etc. but I LOVE the words...so there's no problem here.

I don't think the ideas are repetative at all. There are a couple really different songs on Bounce with interesting story lines not to mention the 9/11 inspired material. This is actually the most diverse album Bon Jovi have ever come up with next to Keep The Faith. So lyrically JBJ repeats himself with a phrase from time to time- it's not that the ideas aren't fresh.

I think there's a reason why they're repeated. We may not know it, whether its intentional for the fans (and I always enjoy picking up on it) or to keep consistency with down to earth lyrics, it's there. If the band really wanted to use big words, they would, and they sure have the ability to. Like Becky said, take a look at Santa Fe: "I watched them infiltrate my soul" & "Once I was promised absolution".
I personally like the repetition & I take it as both a little throwback & a new experience each time. But each to their own I suppose!

Yeah - BJ do re-hash some one liners and the odd word or two - I agree, they have found their formula and they trust it to work. That is what got them here and kept them around for so many years. After all girls and boys - aren't the down to earth melodies and emotion filled lyrics why we love them so much? They are usually in different contexts so don't really pay too much attention to it.

BUT, on the other hand - after 15 years of watching live shows (broadcasts, taped concerts and the odd live show) I am too getting a bit tired of hearing "is there a doctor in the house" and "this one is for all the cowboy's out there"..... I was hoping that the boys would come up with a fresh approach to their set lists this year/album - but after watching clips of their NYC show on TV - it seems that some things will never change.

Would you rather it be different? They use the word "love" quite often as well... The same with the word "God". It's music. The songs aren't always about the same thing... Words are words.. people repeat them in everyday life. I still don't see why people bring these topics up on these boards.. People here are too negative and always look out for the negativity in Bon Jovi. What about everything positive? What about everything that got you into the music and made you enjoy it more and more?
Capt. Crash, I think you need to take a deep breath and relax. People on here are just saying what they are thinking. Andmost of this topic isn't even negative. People are just agreeing on the fact that BJ is repeating themself, but that isn't a negative thing for most of the people. If opinions are different than those on Backstage, that's because there are different people here. But I wouldn't say they all want to see the negative in Bon Jovi, they are just being realistic. Maybe you only want to see the negative things on this board? there are a lot of positive topics, so read those!

Maybe the backstagers are more thankfull, or express their thankfullness more, but that doesn't make all the people on here negative.
By the way, i'm a backstager myself. I haven't read much posts from you on this board, but those wich I read, most of it was negative. I don't want to attack you or something, but maybe you just need to relax and give this a thought. And if you dont agree, well then you don't and maybe you have to wait for backstage to be back up again then.

About negativity... I think it's more "fun". You know, 99,99% of us loves Bon Jovi and we know most of the songs are damn brilliant. It would get a little dull if we just said "The song is great because..." or "I love this guitar solo!" It's much more fun to say "I think the ending was too slow" and have people respond to that with their comments... Dunno, maybe it's just me.
