Yeah, this is the main problem. The song really is begging for a second guitar to double the talkbox and mash on the power chords in the chorus. Same with the solo, there's a pretty strong rhythm guitar part that is just never there.
Of course the band never had a second guitarist until the HAND era, and that guitarist was Bobby who was largely inaudible in the parts that a rhythm guitarist is needed. If they would've had somebody to fill out that sound back on the Crush/OWN tours, that song likely would've
