Well I have to disagree with you Penrose!

I think that first of all Bounce is an awesome album (up there with BJ's best).......Also Everyday, Its my life, and Undivided are awesome songs.

Bounce is a mature album.....I read a review where they said it was one of the most mature yet.......plus its not really a "pop rock" album (that was crush).....this is leaning towards a hard rock album.

I feel that BJ have created a really good album......and just b/c some ppl e.g. Penrose doesn't like it.....doesn't mean that they should stop making albums like it!

Sure BJ are excellent showmen, and I can see why u want to see them live.....but the new material that they are producing is also excellent......so as far as i'm concerned.......Keep up the good work BJ!!

Whenever the next album is released, I believe that it should be a collection of adult rock songs, that are mature and have messages. By the time the next album is released, the members will probably be approaching their mid 40's to early 50's. Who is going to take them seriously if they produce anthems like 'Everyday' and 'It's My Life'?
I don't think BJ were 'on top' in 94 and 95. They were from 87-89.

I've figured it out....

Plz correct me if i'm wrong.....but it seems that the arguement is centered around the frame of mind that nothing of BJ's will ever be as good as what it was!!
And sure KTF, NJ, and SWW were all awesome....but so is Bounce and its great to here some awesome modern rock from the guys!

Overall I rate Bounce the 3rd best BJ album eva (behind KTF and NJ)

Bj refer to themselves as a rock pop band(in ultimate album SWW programme) As this is how they refer to their music in their own opinion I guess we have to like the rock pop style if we are Jovi fans. I think you are saying that sometimes the pop feel overtakes the rock side. It must be difficult for them to create an even balance all the time. Does Crush and Bounce show maturity, I dont think the titles do. I do find that overall the songs on these 2 albums do lack they kind of depth SWW and NJ brought. What is it they say,in order to write in depth songs you need to be tortured souls, SWW, NJ , were tortured times for the guys and this came across in there music. So I guess you could say they are all feeling rather content now since Crush and Bounce and maybe this is why the tortured feelings fans desire dont come across as much as in the early days. How can you get those feelings back in your 40 s , you cant, you know that you live in a mansion and your life is good so its harder to represent the tortured soul anymore.

well...haven't we all forgotten? Bounce was written something 2 do with the 9/11 attacks..so, if u asked me, it's a matured album..nothing wrong with it...well, but i have 2 agreee that it won't sell as much as slippery...but's thats kinda 2 early 2 say...they haven't even started touring...and plz...give the boys a break...this is a good album, if u compared it 2 crush...crush was the worst...for me...but bon jovi did something in crush that 'attracted' many new fans in crush...they wrote party like songs such as iml, say it isn;t so...capt crash, own...so, it managed 2 attract many brand new fans...so, i think bon jovi's new album will be great..the boys are just back from the Own tour, the they wrote Bounce, and now after the Bounce tour.., i'm sure the'll write a good new album....

Hi - thanks for posting your views, but I just want to take u up on a couple of points:

Crush was very popular. I believe it sold more than These Days (8 Million copies) - pretty good, so even though some of us weren't particularly happy with it it was a success. As was Its My Life. Concerning Pop-rock songs, I think the boys r over 40 now & hence will not want to make such hard-rocking songs as in the past. That said, Bounce is very heavy in places & certainly not all in all a full on commercial album (although it does have its moments).

Whilst I think BJ reached their creative peak with These Days, I still rate Crush as a good album (although clearly not thier best) & Bounce as a very good album. It certainly livens up working in an Offie.

One final point - BJ r a stadium rock band, hence the need for big anthemic songs. They suit stadiums perfectly.

Mike
