Yes, but you need to remember that there is life outside of the US…
Yes, sometimes itīs hard for the americans to remember that. As krb102 said, Bounce isnīt doing well. Infact, itīs doing worse than any other BJ album since Farenheit. Itīs not going to be the 100 million topper for them, maybe a 95 million topper.

And the fact that BJ is doing these so called world tours, isnīt helping the fact that Bounce is a FLOP. Twelve countries? Come on! KTF tour had 40 coutries and with TD it was the only real world tour theyīve ever done.

I agree that if there hadnīt been for the WORLD TOUR in 1995, These Days wouldnīt have sold what it did. Also if there hadnīt been for Cross Road, These Days wouldnīt have sold what it did. I have always though CR pushed the sales for TD.

Quote:
How can you say their popularity is decreasing with each album? In the US These Days was a bust. Crush brought them back to the limelight and opened the doors to a new generation of fans.
In terms of touring, it is decreasing with every album. It was uphill all the way till TD but after that itīs been downhill all the way. If you look at the charts, Crush was much more succesful (in USA) than TD but the tour that followed TD was much bigger than the Crush Tour. Even in the US.

I think they should write songs they feel comfortable with and not follow the charts. Now, Iīm not saying that they arenīt comfortable with the songs on Bounce. Because if they are, then continue the same way but somehow I feel theyīre in it for the charts, releasing big anthemic songs as the first single.

And also writing these kind of songs is not going to help them to be taken seriously. As someone already pointed out, when theyīre, say, 55 and if they release songs with lyrics like ”…Itīs my life, itīs now or never…”, they arenīt going to be taken seriously and probably never will be taken.

They have good songs with meaningfull lyrics, why donīt they release these songs as the first singles? Because it wonīt push the album on the charts, but neither are the anthems anymore.

They are somewhat a party I agree but if they want to be taken seriously, they shouldnīt follow the charts but write what they feel is for them. Theyīve had some very good and meaningfull songs but these are the songs that are left behind. Sad but true.

I just wanna say one thing : if BJ were really "commercial", the medias would love them ... From years and years Bj says it themselfs, medias are not very sympathic with them, so if the albums or the songs were made a bit in a way to "seduce and be bought" i think they could do something similar to be "loved" by the medias.

The media loves what they think are 'critically acclaimed'. Being commercial doesn't guarantee love from the media at all. Bon Jovi is commercial but the media doesn't think they're serious musicians, so that's why the media doesn't always kiss their asses. Which is okay but when you take into account that media loves to give props for artists like Aguilera blah blah blah, it becomes really stupid.

Medias can make "miracle", see Aguilera etc ... They sells their S**T just because there's a consequent support behind.
But BJ arrived where they are without their help ! it's a shame they are not recognize as the artists they ar all. But never mind, WE know it !

Default 40 is NOT too old!!!

Excuse me? People here are saying that at 40, Bon Jovi are too old?!!
Nowadays, 40 is nothing! There are plenty of artists now much older that still rock today!

(Anyone here ever heard of the Rolling Stones???!!!!!)
