Default it's time that makes things classic

i can see that some people are not happy with the modern work of bon joiv. we all like the songs on new jersey, sww, mostly because they are classic, which means they did not fade with time. but some years later, i think ppl will learn to like crush or bounce, just like these days. it's time that make things classic, there aren't anything going wrong.
sorry for my english~

I agree,I think that It's my life is already a classic, something that you'll be able to sing in 20 years from now...and I think that Bounce has a lot of that kind of songs!BJ are experts in that!

Right, that's why it's so hard for some people to like their new stuff....

it happens that albums need time to discovered years after their release. sometimes it's an immediate effect, sometimes not. BJ style is know for their 80's work, and most of their fans at this time were hard-rockers, now, it's different, a lot of people who likes very different styles like BJ. so the music changed. you like, you buy, you don't, put back the cd in the can and go to the new age section

People define "classic" as "memory of the good old times". The sound of SWW or NJ is typical 80's, so nobody can say that the band was not commercial until Crush. Crush and Bounce feature the typical sound of the beginning of this decade. The band just adjusted their sound to the time we are living in. People who became fans with Crush or now with Bounce will always see these records as classics whereas elder fans will say the classics are Slippery or New Jersey. I think everyone has his/her own definition of what "classic" really means. To me, everything that I still like listening to years after its release is classic. So for me it's all BJ albums except for Crush, OWN Live and Bounce. But I think these three have a good chance to become classics too. They all are still running in my stereo, so two years after its release, Crush might already be considered as a classic...

I agree with y´all but I still prefer the old songs because I don´t like much of today´s music. The 80´s had that particular drum sound, those high and enthusiastic vocals... story-telling songs which didn´t get too boring. I mean... I like Bounce very much, but I´d rather take New Jersey and listen to their "real" creative hard rock.

Just my opinion
