Anywhere there is a man who asked children to tell a story - anything they want but it should take place on earth. He wrote everything down and then he was searching in reality for the things the children told. He found a real event for every story. So this story of Jon isn't that unlikely (even if he isn't a child anymore). We are...how many billion people...on earth now? Why can't one of them say anything that elsewhere really happens. I'm sure you can find a lot of storys like that - you just have to search long enough.
