because he hasn't grasped the theory that trying to be controversial on a message board has been done all too many times before.
He was one of the first around here. I don't think you were really around to see it.

And as Seb has already pointed out, KRB wants a reaction and some of you have fallen into the trap.
Well a nice trap to fall in.

I think it is just to sit back and watch the aftermath. I have fallen for it numerous times myself. Too many to count actually.

Of course... That is what KRB is known for isn't it?

It doesnt matter if your the first or last person here you state BS its still BS!!! Maybe he was looking for a reaction.. so is everyone when they make a post. People respond.. I mean though how many times can a person get off on people going "get a life you idiot"

disagree! i think this would be quite difficult to prove! actually i don't think anybody can prove this, cause it's wrong! e^(-x*x) has no primitive but it can easily be integrated! haha! don't tell me that you don't know that e^(-x*x) integrated over the whole real axis is Sqrt(Pi)! and cause it's positive everywhere you can of course then integrate it over every intervall....

sorry, but i had to say that, cause this whole post from krb102 was so stupid!
Give me a function, not a number. I bet you can't.

Give me a function, not a number. I bet you can't.
i marked the important part of my post above. obviously you know nothing about mathematics! it can be integratrated (by calculating the square of it, using fubinis theorem twice, first time to get a 2-dimensional integral, the second time introducing polar coordinates on the plane and getting two one-dimensional integrals again), it only has no primitive, that's all (as i said above). but why am i saying this, you won't understand anyway...

you know, there's a difference between "can not be integrated" and "has no elementary-function-primitive", which only means it's not a gradient from another function (therefore i can't give you that "function").

but if you want any function (also a non-elementary one): the integral normalized at 0 is itself a solution (fundamental theorem of calculus!!), so there's your function!

if you would know a little more about math, you would know that EVERY continuous bounded function can be integrated, and your function here is obviously continuous and bounded. but only the fact that your asking for a function tells me that this goes ways beyond your knowledge!

you know, the only reason why i say all this, is cause you acted like you're super-intelligent and jon is "only a stupid rock star", otherwise i don't like talking math in my free time...

:P

no no no and no. i dont think jon has said this quote to tell the world he thinks he's the best and the most intelligent guy on earth. I think he work on that speech hard to make it INSPIRATIONAL. I don't think he sees himself like a full accomplished man. I'm sure he knows he can always do better and I think he had followed the 'don't get too comfortable with who you are at...etc' philosophy all his life and he's still going that way. He just tell people not to look over everybody and put your self higher than you are . I'm sure this speech as been very good for the students, and when i had read it, I find it very good and very inspirational. anyway, that is my opinion.

lol!
KRB102 is certainly missing the point. The phrase basically means not to feel comfortable with who u are because u might lose the chance to be something u wanna be. this applis to himself.
its like u wanna be an actor or something, but u think hell..i'm ok with my life. instead u should think i can do it!
i would finish my explanation, but its definetely not Jon bragging.
Thats what i thought too
