1. Thanks for the interview. I really enjoyed it. It is at last something that is not a cliche. Not the stereotypal questions that the reporters ask him but more original ones. The interviewer really must have done much research before she talked to Jon. Great job. And thanks for the link.

a thing that I am curious is quite a mundane one. Does Jon really look overweight? I have not been to a show yet (my first one will be this summer) so I did not see him in person. Does anybody who has seen him know if what he says about his "bulky" size is true? To me it sounded a bit unreal because in the pictures he looks quite well shaped. Hm... But pictures not always say the truth. Just curious

He says he's 10 pounds overweight. As I said earlier, that's no heavier than a small cat. He's making too much of nothing. I've struggled with weight for most of my life (thankfully I've got it under control), and he's bitching about 10 pounds. It's silly.

He's still in very good shape, ten pounds wouldn't show up as fat on him.

Jon is short(he looks shorter today than before) ... and when he was a kid he was thinner because with less muscles today he is muscular so he is not fat at all nor he has 10 pounds of weight to lose but any pound make him look bulky... at least bulkier than what he would like ...and Jon is famous and goodlooking so he is also most certainly vain ... he will think he needs to lose weight to hear ppl say .. nahhhh

he needs to lose the big head he has ... even in that more honest interview than usual he is still full of himself this is the part of his body that need to lose volume : his head

Thanks for the explanation
10 pounds is about 5 kg. so right, you can easily hide it and easily lose it. Or maybe he is too hysterical about his weight, talking about a problem where there is no problem at all still, I know that as a performer he needs to be slim since it seems to be a sterotype - a stereotypal singer is imagined usually to be thin. If you look through YT videos it becomes obvious that thinness is one of the required and desired "qaulity" of a performer. Maybe the fashion introduced by David Bowie. So the 10 pounds "overweight" in case of a singer is more or less what "normal weight" is for a non-performer

C'mon, don't be so serious about it. That's Jon, he knows he has no issues, but he's just messin aroud with that reporter. If he was that concerned with his weight, he wouldn't wear those tight tank tops every night on stage.

^^By any medical definition I am sure he is not overweight. But Jon probably sees his ideal weight as that with an extremely low body fat percentage; the kind low enough to enable you to show off six pack abs. Those are probably his standards; not that of other 48 year olds.

I know touring is tough but im suprised by how burned out he comes across in that interview.

Good interview...

He does appear to have lost his passion and become bored/tired and goes on auto to put on a show... Im sure there are moments which are still great but overall you do get that feeling.. ... but then why keep touring ? should have had a break now... I think he will end up in politics.

Dawn

ARTICLE QUOTE.Yet I get a sense that Jon Bon Jovi is dialling this concert in. Going through the motions. He emanated much more conviction, sincerity and engagement when he and I talked politics the evening before; much, much more. I think politics is where Jon Bon Jovi's true passion lies these days.

Jon has said that touring is his least favorite part of the job after song writing and recording. He initially hates going on tour until he settles into it. The short, South American tour came on the heels of a six-week break. So he probably just missed his home and family the whole time. The band probably does not have old friends come by and visit on tour like they do in the U.S. or in Europe given the fact that they obviously don't tour South America much.

He has always said that he knows how to put on a good show. Any performer after 30 years and 2,500+ shows knows his craft. The fact that the audiences were so good made for great shows and longer encores. Good for him and kudos that he is passionate about other things in his life. I *was* surprised that he mentioned being vetted by the White House for a committee appointment as usually people are quiet about such things until they are announced.
