But is it really the producer who decides if it's going to be rock or pop? I think the song writers themselves have more influence. If BJ really wants a rock album, they just have to write great rocking songs......

He writes all the time, but for some reason Jon&Richie choose not to include his songs on the albums... I mean, Dave's written two musicals and a bunch of other great songs. But he's not calling the shots when it comes to Bon Jovi records.

When I made that statement, I meant writing with Bon Jovi. I guess I didn't make myself clear. I didn't know it was Jon's and Richie's choice as to who they wantt to write songs with.

Uh.....Hell...no. Bruce Fairbairn is way overrated. He may have produced Slippery and NJ..but I never did like the production on either of those.

So even if he were alive today..I wouldn't want him anywhere near Bon Jovi.

Well said! I find the production on those two albums to be too...muddy, almost. And tell me how much you all enjoyed the song "real life". If they went with bruce, you could expect more of that. (Not to say I don't like the song, I love it)

But I wouldn't mind if the band was recording with Bob Rock again. He's a really great producer.

At elast Richie said he didn't like the studio sessions. Bob Rock was too much of a perfectionist for him.

I like the production on these two records more than on the later albums.
