Default Jon and his "wisdom" - Part 1.

Aloha !

After reading the new letter from Jon that came with the Backstage magazine (no I'm not a member but read it online so again I saved a lot of money) I couldn't help but finding Jon a stupid dork again.

Quote:
Ilene Schreibman and then Kevin Reagan and Vartan get a big slap on the back for the amazing artwork.
I really think he is the only one who thinks the artwork is amazing. To me it just sounds like he's trying to convince the fans that the artwork ís amazing. He knows lots of fans thinks it's ugly but tries to convince them the artwork is amazing. Also, the Oompas have told us that the artwork is great, which means they've gotten a lot of complaints about it as well.

Now, anyone who thinks in a logical way should know that when about 99% of the fans think that the artwork is silly, ugly and just sucks, that the artwork is not amazing.

Now can anybody tell me why Jon tells us in a letter towards the fans that he's so happy with the artwork of a boxset of which everybody thinks it's ugly? Why does he do something like that? Is it to convince himself that the entire artwork project and his Elvis obsession wasn't a miserable failure? Or is it because he thinks that he can really change the taste of fans?

If that's true he's right, because there indeed are fans who like the things he likes, but he should face it that there are people out there that don't kiss his ass; the people that don't post the things his mom wants. Please discuss.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

it would have been different if he had said ''u gotta check this guy out, you should love it'' etc etc ..but he didnt did he.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Someone who wants to share his opinion doesn't do it like "I want to give [insert name] a slap on the back for doing that great job. When I'm sharing my opinion about a new Ferrari I've bought I'm not saying "I want to give Pininfarina a slap on the back because the car looks so brilliant". It doesn't make sense.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Oh, I see now!

The package - if it can be considered artwork - is nice. But the rest I don't think gives the right of a slap in the back to the creators. The golden suits I hate and the booklet is unreadable unless you want to be shortsighted right after reading it.

They could have done much, much better. But that's Jon's opinion after all which I don't think he's trying to seel as "wisdom". Of course he has to say he's happy with something he's just released. It's called marketing.

are you asking this seriously?

why?

because he is a businessman. you can have the crappiest product, but a good salesman will sell it nonetheless.
