The clearest objective evidence regarding the coming collapse of the attempt to buy the Bills comes from the cancellation of a Wednesday tour of Ralph Wilson Stadium. It’s part of the due diligence process for all finalists, and with the tour canceled and not expected to be rescheduled, it will be impossible for the Bon Jovi bid to be accepted.
Close to collapsing? With only one third of the franchise fee and no additional operating capital to offer, Jon's bid never had a "leg" to "stand on!"

Jon Bon Jovi has been chucked from the group, The Post has learned.

The rocker and the deep-pocketed Toronto-based sports team owners who are bidding for the Buffalo Bills have parted way, sources close to the situation said Friday.

The remaining entities in the group — Larry Tanenbaum, chairman of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which controls the NHL’s Maple Leafs and NBA’s Raptors, and Edward Rogers, chairman of Rogers Communications — believe they are in a stronger position to win the Bills auction without Bon Jovi, sources said.

The New Jersey rocker had led the group, a source close to the situation said. As the lead bidder, Bon Jovi would have been the principal owner and therefore, under NFL rules, would have to put up 30 percent of the purchase price.

With Bon Jovi’s net worth at roughly $300 million, according to sources, the group’s highest bid would have been capped at about $1.1 billion.

With rival bidder Terry Pegula, a fracking billionaire, said to be willing to push a bid toward $1.2 billion or higher, the Toronto group, with Bon Jovi, feared it was bound to lose, sources said.

“Rogers is very serious” about buying the team, another source close to the process said.

There have been recent media reports about the Toronto bid falling apart — but in reality it is reforming, sources said.

Deep-pocketed Donald Trump is still in the bidding, as well. Final bids are due next week.

Morgan Stanley, the investment bank selling the Bills, has been trying to help Bon Jovi find new backers, sources said. Bon Jovi and Tanenbaum spokespeople did not return calls.

Fifteen? And they didn't call in the Mounties? I'll bet that had Jon changing his underwear! But if they don't want ANYONE bringing an NFL team to Toronto, shouldn't they have burned some Rogers publications and Raptors/Maple Leafs gear representing Tanenbaum, too?

The New York Post being what it is, I preferred a second opinion:

Jon Bon Jovi reportedly no longer part of Toronto group bidding on team

According to the New York Post, the Toronto group that includes Larry Tanenbaum and Edward Rogers has cut ties with Bon Jovi.

With Bon Jovi as the principal owner, he would have to front 30 percent of the purchase according to NFL rules. His net worth sits at roughly $300 million, which would limit the ceiling of the group's bid...The two Canadian businessmen think they are in a better position to win the bid without Bon Jovi...

While Terry Pegula has plenty of money to work with and reportedly a willingness to push the bid over $1 billion, the Toronto group needs to find a way to compete financially...
Rogers alone is supposed to be worth $7 billion, more than TWICE the money that Pegula has to "work with." But because they are corporate rather than individual investors (and foreign ones at that), maybe the "Toronto Brothers" can't own more than thirty per cent each -- which would explain their needing an American third party. But that's their problem now.

Hopefully, this marks the beginning of the end as far is Jon is concerned -- now, he can get back to work. There's at least two Bon Jovi albums left in you, so concentrate on getting your voice and your guitarist back where they ought to be!

Glad this thing is over. The hatred being spewed towards the man by people who have no idea what they're talking about was sickening. And the stupid-ass Bon Jovi song puns.....Christ, they weren't original or funny the first 50,000 times, and they're not now.

I'm a singer, I'm a CEO, I'm a working man
It's getting hard to make a living in this hard land
We ain't working in our factories, all those jobs went CANADA
Hey, hey!!!

Does anybody want, does anybody want,
Does anybody want what's left of me?

Default Epilouge

Epilouge: Inside Donald Trump's Shady Scheme to Keep Jon Bon Jovi from Buying the Buffalo Bills

Quote:
GQ.com, 10/2017: As Donald Trump finds new ways to drag out his vicious feud with the National Football League— he tweeted Monday morning that there's "no leadership in the NFL"—a big question looms about where this all began. Could it be, as several reports now suggest, that this whole national trauma can be traced back to Trump's failed attempt to buy the Buffalo Bills back in 2014?

..(P)otential buyers...narrowed to three finalists—Trump, Buffalo Sabres owner (and eventual winner)...Terry Pegula, and a group of Toronto investors led by Jon Bon Jovi...That's when a local fan group sprang up, hoping to turn sentiment in Buffalo against Bon Jovi and his partners...

Trump hired veteran Republican operative and Buffalo resident Michael Caputo -- a close associate of Paul Manafort and Roger Stone...In a stroke of cunning, Caputo recruited...a double amputee cancer survivor, to serve as the group's leader...The group gathered thousands of signatures for a petition demanding the team remain in Buffalo and started a "Ban Bon Jovi" movement to rid upstate New York of the New Jersey rocker's music.
The real tragedy of this story is that Trump's efforts were completely unnecessary: If Team Trump had done the most cursory amount of homework on Team Bon Jovi, they would have realized that Team Bon Jovi never had a chance.

Buying major league sports franchises is a game for billionaires like Jon's Toronto partners -- Jon is a mere millionaire who would have had to cash in every cent of his net worth just to come up with his share of the franchise fee. He didn't need any help in ending up being unceremoniously rejected and publicly embarrassed: either he got really bad advice, or really good advice that he didn't (or didn't want to) take.

So simply rack this up as yet another tribute to the Trump bull(shit)-in-a-china-shop management style. And speaking of strokes of cunning, Jon dressed as Donald Trump for Halloween that year:
