I'm glad we can make each other laugh since we disagree all the time.

I never said that Jon doesn't fake a smile. But I think it's ridiculous to critisize him for such an innoculous act and to be BLIND enough to think that Richie and Dave never do the same thing. Show me a human being who doesn't fake enthusiasm once in a while (hee hee, especially a woman, but that's a different story). Everyone does such things and I think it's really *searching* for ways to critisize the man if you have to critisize that he's smiling.

What I don't understand about all you Jon-bashers is why you're so blind you don't see the same things you consistently criticize in Jon in the other guys. You don't think Richie's wearing designer clothes? Do you think he gets those "Sambora" shirts and his "**** me" and hot pink pants off the wrack? You don't think Tico, a clothes designer model-marrier, wears designer clothes? Richie co-wrote the majority of those "pop" songs and Tico, Hugh, and Dave fleshed them out to make them what they are. Richie and Jon are a LOT more alike than some of you seem to want to admit. Unfortunately, in the past 10 years or so, we rarely hear from Tico and Dave, so we don't get as much of a picture of who they are and what they think now.

I can't repsond to everything you said because part of it doesn't make sense.

Becky

what really is your point DevilsSon?

Did Becky ever in her initial post defend Jons smile? Judging by your reply you think she did... but in fact, she didn't. She was just wondering why every little thing (in general) of Jon has to be critized over and over again over here.
She doesn't necessarily agree with everything Jon does! But some people over here (yeah, DevilsSon, you're not the only one) are so singleminded and seem to think that certain people can't stand any criticism towards Jon - while, in fact, they can.

I wonder why those people have to post like this so often, just to get into argument with those so-called Jon-lovers...

edit: just realized that this was pretty much what Becky posted before... sorry about that, just had to get it out

So you say I shouldn't bash only Jon for writing those poppy songs.
Why don't you ask me to talk about RICHIE aswell when i say Jon is one of the best songwritesr because he wrote some of the best lyrics and some of the best melodies...as a mtter of fact , Richie co-wrote most of them.

You see only the positive parts of Jon. I see the positive and the negative, but FACT IS:THERE ARE MUCH MORE NEGATIVE POINTS TO MAKE ABOUT JON RIGHT NOW then positive.

And there is a difference between the clothes Jon is wearing and the other guys are weraing.
I mean , on 7800 Dgrees Fahrenheit Jon thanked NIKE and i think it's one of the best credits i have evr read.

On DESTINATION ANYWHEHE he thanks VERSACE.Isn't taht a cahange even they are both some of the biggest names in clothing industry.
Do you get what i want to say?

I didn't talk about any of the other positive things you said, so why would I have pointed out Richie cowrote some of those great songs you talked about? I've also established that I don't see just the positive things about Jon. However, some of the things I find negative are in areas I just choose to not discuss becuase it's related to part of MY life I choose to not discuss here.

It is not a FACT that there are more negative things about Jon than positive. It's your OPINION based on what YOU perceive as being positive or negative.

I think it's a positive thing that Jon and Richie act and have solo projects and that Tico designs clothes and paints and that David writes musicals. I think it's great for them that they don't have to limit themselves to music and that they don't have to limit their music to one genre. I think it's great for Jon and Richie that they've got the money to invest in a sports team when they both love sports so much. I don't see their business dealings to be a negative thing. I think it's admirable for a person to be both businessminded and creative and I wouldn't begrudge any of the members of that band the freedom to try outside projects and fulfill outside dreams. They have a lives outside of music and those lives spill over into the music. If it weren't for their life experiences, they couldn't write songs.

And why did Jon thank Versace on DA? Because he had become friends with the family, both Gianni and Donatella. He's done more with them than just a few modeling shots. He's been part of fundraisers they did and they've donated items to fundraisers he's done. It's part of life experience.

It's so strange because i could just copy my other post and paste it again and you'll find some other answers.

Is it hust me or doesn't it make sense.

But i think you said it before. Compared to me, you don't like Bon jovi for being THE ROCK BAND of the 80s.
And you should understand the way i think . The one that changed most is definetly JON and he didn't change in a ROCK way which in my opinion would have been a GOOD WAY.

I think you answered some time ago to my first post that I had a problem with Jon liking POP.Ypu said something like There is nothing wrong with being open-minded towards music styles, even POP.

Indeed i have a problem. If ROBERT PLANT who is 1000000 times bigger than jon will ever be calls AEROSMITH a POP band criticizing them, why does JB have to agree with so much of the music made lately....(you don't have to take this in consideration)

Well, maybe that's the key to our disagreeing on so much. You're right. I don't like Bon Jovi JUST for being a ROCK band from the 1980's. I became a fan in 1986. But I've grown up and changed. And the band has grown up and changed. I've enjoyed their progression. If they were still making the same music they made in the 80's, I'd be very bored with them. I'd file them with Def Leppard, Slaughter, Poison, and other bands I liked in the day, but have not continued to follow because their later releases have bored me. I have extremely varied taste in music. I can listen to Metallica, the Carpenters, Pink, George Strait, and an aria on public radio in one afternoon drive home from work and like it ALL.

See, if I didn't like what Bon Jovi was doing in the 2000's, I wouldn't be here posting about them. I'd find something else to waste my time talking about. I'm NOT saying that's the attitude you should take. Your passion is your business. But I also don't think those of us who do enjoy the band's growth and progression should be told that we're wrong or that other people's opinions are "facts" or be treated like we have inferior taste (which many posters tend to do). It's just different. No better, no worse, just different.

I totally agree with you Becky! Who started this topic anyway? Bon Jovi is such an awesome band, and yes I agree with things they do and disagree also. But whats the point in targeting Jon all the time? And for such a silly thing like "his smile". But for long time fans or maybe even short time fans, I suppose topics like that are bound to come up sometime.

But to the both of you, I totally understand, but I think Becky has more of a point.

Oh geez what more can I say, other than apologize & bow down to allmighty all knowing becky. whatever negative anyone posts, its always opinion, and becky can most of times overrun it with her facts. All negativity is bad, so shhhhh with it. Well f**k it, let them who gets their kicks out of a**kissing keep on doing so, luckily there are ones who dare to question things.

I do have to say that I do agree with devil-dude, jovi has gone pop and i dont really know if its a good direction for them. what come to growing becky is so much praising, not all of it is good. even tumors grow, would u call it good? and well, rockers turning to fashionpoppers isn't the kind of growing I consider being good.......but what the hell, its all about money isnt it. artists do their math and try to figure out the way to make as much cash as they can, no denying it. if pop is what sells, they go that way. Old dogs like jovi, well, let's just say that not every grown-up artist can keep up the pace these days. Jovi used to be top live act with energetic rock'n'roll show, even that is changing with pop tunes. yeah sure there's still some rock in their show, but all the rock they put to it is old worn out tunes played old worn out way....bad med-shout, anyone?

Another thread about Jon's looks.

It's funny how people who put others down for talking about Jon's looks also talk about Jon's looks constantly. It's from a different perspective, but still about his looks.
