Thanks for letting us know what it was like to be there!

It was surreal. He was right there in front of me and I still couldn't believe it. It was very secretive, we were told about the event and that a "very special guest" would be there. I was lucky because my boss told us who it was in case any of us wanted to go. But so many people didn't know until it was too late. I took a few pics with my phone but a friend of mine had her digital with her. When I get the pics from her, I'll share.

He had a private meet and greet with some employees who were going to Johannesburg for a Habitat build. When he went up on the podium to speak he seemed a little nervous. (But he's still such a rock star. Dressed in black head to toe and the way he walks with confidence.) I guess it wasn't his typical audience as it was a corporate event. He had his little piece of paper with his notes on it. He almost had a scowl on his face, he was looking so serious. He gave a nice speech. He told the employees he knew we were going through a difficult time and appreciated the people who still found time to give to others. Of course, referred to himself as working class, grew up in Jersey, still lives there, etc. It was so great that he came to Atlanta for this. It's one thing to see him in concert. Quite another to see him in a business setting. Everyone that worked in getting him here said he couldn't have been any nicer and they were impressed.
How very cool! Thanks so much for sharing some details of the event.
