You could write a book on pop songs with G-D-C, I don't think it means they're ripping each other off. I never bought Say it Isn't So as a Third Eye Blind rip-off either, it's just a real common chord structure in pop music.

I've only just realised how much Next 100 Years sounds like Champagne Supernova. How have I missed this for so long?!

But yeah, having listened to the above I would agree that the main body of N100Y has definitely been influenced by it.

Anyone ever noticed that No Apologies kinda sounds like A Dustland Fairytale? Especially the beginning of the first verse.
