Honestly, I don't really hear it either. I got more of a For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) vibe. It's the same guitar method for sure between all three but none really "reminded" me of each other. *Shrugs*

The intro to My Champion by Alter Bridge completely rips off the intro to SAOA though.

Just a coincidence to me. My brother said the same thing when My Champion was released but I don't think it's intentional, personally.

Sorry if this has been mentioned earlier on this thread, too.

But Hey God has been mentioned being at least reminiscent of The Cult’s Fire Woman. If I remember correctly, it was Kerrang! or Hit Parader or some other similar British magazine that compared those two back in the summer of 1995 and stated that Hey God is nothing more than Fire Woman rewritten.

I disagree, though. Now that I gave it a proper listen, I honestly can’t see that much resemblance. I’d say it could all be purely coincidental. It’s just the general structure of the songs, nothing more.

What do you think?

The intro does for a few seconds but that’s about it.
Both great songs

Both riffs are in D and the chord progression descends. I for sure hear it as an influence but as far as a copy? Nahhh. The main chord progression sounds closer to the progression of the Hey God Solo if anything.

Think I've said this a few times on here but the intro to this is almost identical to Dirty Little Secret.

I guess I can hear where they're coming from, but I think the resemblance is rather minor and subtle and probably coincidental.

Another one I recently noticed but also consider rather minor and subtle and probably coincidental is the resemblance between These Days and Glycerine by Bush.

Silent Night's 2nd half of the 2nd verse has a very similar melody to U2 Bad (and some of the same lyrics), same D to A chord progression.
Bad was released the year before.

Silent Night (I never knew they had a music video for this one... learn something new everyday)

The Silent Night / Bad one has always bugged me. It's a little too obvious, definitely not a coincidence!
