Say It Isn't So is Billy Falcon's song. I love that song beyond imagination, but it has as much to do with Jon Bon Jovi as I have to do with speaking Chinese (not very much, I can tell you).

Edit: just read that outside writers is ok! Sorry about that Still!

Don't doubt what you're saying, just curious how you know?

Wasn't that supposed to be the comeback single instead of It's My Life? Christ, it would have bombed. Love the song but for what they needed at the time commercially, IML was the much better option.

To be honest after the 90s songs (I don't personally think Hearts breaking even is all that great) it's not a particularly strong set of songs.

My gut tells me (and I believe that there was some interview with Billy Falcon from that time where he was basically hinting at it but I can't seem to find it anywhere).

The fact that it was meant to be the come-back single doesn't mean much. The come-back single was It's My Life, and we all know how much Jon Bon and Richie had to do with that one. A line in the chorus and a talkbox lick...I think that's about it.

I have no idea how much Axl had to do with the music on some of the Chinese Democracy tracks, but I figured outside writers would be comparable to hired guns. Hence I figured they're okay. There's only one Axl solo credit on Chinese Democracy as well, and that's the track he wrote about his deceased mother (from what I've read).

I would say that most of the lyrics are Axls...not sure about the instrumentation and song structures

That album is almost completely Axl's. Its as close to a solo record as you can get when you can't play all the instruments yourself.

Whilst various players added solos, riffs and some other contributions here and there the fundamentals were predominantly Axl. The lyrics, melodies, song structure, production and even some basic guitar work.

It is one hell of an album in a completely grandiose, overinflated, eccentric way and is in a different league to anything Aerosmith or Jovi have released this century.

That statement just made me think of this:
