This is a perfect example of your understanding of the language. YOU should read the first post again. It's a fun little story from the night the band Thunder was born.
Let me see if I can clear it up for you:
A few guys from the local scene were at the Marquee club in London. That's Marquee with a capital M, as in the club, not a tent where you hold festivities in.
Lita Ford, a well-known singer-guitarist was playing at Maruee (the club) that night. A well-known singer-songwrited by the nae of Jon Bon Jovi hopped on the stage for the encores. The place went nuts. That is, the people were very excited, they didn't actually turn into nuts. It's just a saying. So, no nuts, but very excited people.
Luke Morley, a well-known British guitarist, who was a little but less-well-known at the time said to his friend, with a bit of bravado, "Look at that man on the stage (the man being Jon Bon Jovi, the well-known singer-etc)! We're better than this wanker! (Wanker being a rude word to describe an individual these gentlemen were not particularly fond of, in this case Jon Bon Jovi, the well-known singer etc.)". The two men (Luke and his friend, not Lita, who's a woman and Jon, who I think is a man) laughed at this and decided that they would show the world. They decided to start a new band to show people that they, in fact, were better than the wanker on stage. ("The wanker" again referring to the well-known singer etc. Jon Bon Jovi)
So, they formed a band, named it Thunder and had moderate success in the 90s and the 2000s, so much so that they got two gold albums and several singles in the charts in both UK and US, not to speak about other Europen countries.
And then, sometime during the duration of their success, they gave an interview to a paper where they talked about how they got started and shared an amusing anecdote about the night they decided to form Thunder.
Some time later, some Romanian guy quoted that interview on a message board, jokingly adding the words "Gotta love the Bon Jovi bashing!" to the end, as if to show how funny he thought the original anecdote was.
After reading (but obviously not understanding) the post, a 38-year-old wanna-be from New Jersey, NJ, USA, got really, really mad and decided to defend the honor of the well-know singer etc. Jon Bon Jovi, and effectively made a fool of himself in the public.
I guess that pretty much sums it up. Did you get it now?
