Well, because that's what it says. Everyone else got it, you didn't. Is the world wrong, or could it just be that you are?

Here is what I don't get after my 5th time reading this! Is this supposed to be an Epic story? THE DAY THUNDER WAS BORN!!!!!!!!
|
Where did you get the idea it had to be an epic story? No one can compete with your imagination, but the word "epic" was never used.

This would be interesting.

A matter of opinion. To me it's just as interesting as the story that started this thread.

I wouldn't call them an "epic" band, but you have the right. But you're the only one in this thread. The others said "well-known", and there IS a difference between the two.

I don't own an actual dictionary but can I use Wikipedia instead?

How come I'm not surprised? Whatever floats your boat. But look them up, they will come in handy.

Stop Whining! You're starting to sound like a bitch. Just sayin'

I also suggest you look up "whining" from Wikipedia, you seem to have no idea what the word means.

No other Country can contend with US sports, Football and Baseball. We recruit from all over the world.
|
Wow. How ignorant can you be? Really? It's really easy being the best in a sport that's not really pleayed anywhere else. There's no contest.
Football? You mean the game that should be called "carrying the eilliptical egg"? Football is a game where you have a ball (a ball is round, not something else) and you kick it with your feet. Not a game where you throw the "ball" with your hands and run into other men.
As to the "football" you're referring to, that was developed in the UK (as, BTW was baseball), and it's still played all over the world (!). It's called rugby and for that they don't use the pussy-paddings the Americans wear.
As to "No other Country" [sic], let's take a look at the olympics, that ended a few weeks ago. They were held in London, that's a part of the UK, which is a part of Europe. You know "the rest of the world" from where you're standing.
Yes, the US won the most medals. But only because you had the biggest team. If weighed by the population and the number of athletes in the team, countries like Jamaica beat the US clearly. And that's just summer games. In the winter games the last time in Vancouver, both Canada and Germany got more gold medals than the US.
In ice-hockey (for which "you recruit all over the world"), US hasn't one gold since 1960. And all in all, the US ice hockey team has as many world championships as Finland, which has a population of about 5 million. And Finland's last championship was in 2011. Actually, the last medal the US ice hoceky team won was in 2004 and that was bronze.
In Formula One, the biggest motor sports in the world, there isn't one driver from the US in the series. As a matter of fact, the last time there was an American driving in Formula One was in 2007, when Scott Speed retired from the sport, having won nothing, not a single point or even a pole position in three years. Currently there are two Finnish drivers in F1, five Germans, two Brasilians and even an Indian guy, but no Americans.
Then there's the biggest sport in the whole world, football. Or what you Yanks call "soccer". The last time they played for the world cup, the US team didn't even make it to the quarter finals. In fact, they lost to Ghana, a real super county in football. No, not really, Ghana is only 31st in the FIFA ranking. The US is number 33.
I'm all for patriotism, its all good, but stupidity is another thing.
