See, that's exactly what I meant--what he said gets distorted and always made out to be more negative than it was. Here is the transcript:

What do you think of "American Idol"?

BON JOVI: I've never seen the show and I know that a kid has a hit with "Wanted Dead or Alive," I know, on it but I've never seen the show.

Ultimately, what I believe in the show is that as artists, if any of these guys or girls are going to survive they have to just start writing their own stuff. So up until then they are just lounge singers.

KING: So you haven't seen any of the action?

BON JOVI: I've never, ever seen it. I've never seen it. And I'm not saying that as any sort of a slag towards the show because I think it's been incredible. The success, God bless them. I'm happy they're even using my songs. I've just never seen it.

Thanks for that update. So it is a one off episode. I can't see him being overly pleased about it, but I thought that Jon doesn't do anything Jon doesn't want to? Will be interesting to see what happens when he is on.
I just hope he remembers what it was like to be young and have a dream and how he did anything he could do to get himself heard.

Thanks Becky.. I could have sworn I had heard he said he hated it, but it must have been a twist on this interview. My apologies.

I almost fell of my chair when they announced him. I am surprised that he would be associated with that show though, simply because the majority are "lounge singers."

Oh and J.Lo? Ermmm..she can't even sing. What could she possibly help them with?

I will predict that it will in fact be a night of Bon Jovi songs. Last year when Queen were the guests the contestants all did Queen songs. I am excited because i hope he will be on to promote the new album. Most of the guest coaches last year (Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow, etc.) were on in conjunction with a new album. I watch Idol anyway so this is just like an added unexpected treat.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

That's what I'm hoping for. Guest judge??? Do they do guest judges in the Final 12? I believe he'll be doing that guest performance and it will also be a night of Bon Jovi songs. Man.... I can't wait!!

Wouldn't it bother you guys to hear Bon Jovi songs covered by AI contestants? I would imagine most of them would butcher the songs the way people do at karaoke.

Why would it? It's cool to watch other soon-to-be-stars sing Jovi songs. I think we can tell who will win by hearing them too!
