Jon grants dying woman's wish

From the article, it sounds like he wanted to talk to her but she was in too much pain to talk, at least that is what I get from this part:

"At about 11 a.m. Sunday, Bon Jovi spoke to Holli over an Internet connection. Holli was too sick to talk for long with Bon Jovi, her husband of seven years said. But Bon Jovi said he would call this afternoon in hopes that Holli's medication would subdue the pain enough to make a conversation possible."

she is probably on heavy painkilling meds and comes in and out of consciousness, she will recognise things by sight more than by hearing a voice. ie she wouldnt know it was Jon on a phone but would recognise and react to seeing his face.

Gaz that's just sad. It only became public because the family talked about it probably because they were touched by his kindness. It's not like JBJ put out a press release or something. Good on him.

imagine someone asks you to speak to a total stranger who has terminal cancer i wonder how many people would do it?

It must have been really hard - what do you say when you know the reason they have asked to speak to you is because they haven't got long left?

He deserves a lot of credit, not cynicism, as it must have been a difficult thing to do, even though it was the right thing to do. If it brought even some happiness to her and her family at such a sad time, for such a small gesture, it's worth it.

We're so used to hearing bad things in the news that little things like this make you stand up and take notice and reminds us all that there is some good left.

Somebody on the bj.com messageboard who knows someone who works in this ladies care-home has said that Jon 'spoke' to her via a webcam Monday afternoon and she sadly died later that night.
Very sad for her family, especially this time of year.

Oh man, that is just tragic. I'm glad she was at least able to see Jon via the webcam.
