all i know is there is a few guitar people around here and that solo is cringe worthy there are loads of out of tune parts and his vibrato technique leaves a lot to be desired

I was actually there when he did it and i was so looking forward to richies solo, what a shame.

so was i the original solo is awesome i mean jon could ave at elast played a few pinch harmonics or sweeps but single string playin doesnt do nothin for your cred both as a guitarist and as a frontman

lets face it he's never gonna be the same kind of front man as james hetfield and dave mustane etc. not in guitar playing terms anyway. vocally and entertainment wise he kicks their asses. I was at milton keynes this year and jon played pretty much the same solo, but he nailed it and it sounded great. just cos it's single note stuff doesn't make it naff. kurt cobain made a living out out playing one string, single note solos didn't he.

yeh but i think the problem with jon on stage playin guitar (more elctric) is that when he is actually playin, not just holdin it like usual, he never looks comfortable. i mean look at the video link he never looks up once. he could have at least practised it pre show so that he could have nailed it

yeah that does always look bad when it's time for his solo spot, turns into a shoe gazer unfortunately. it's not a bad guitarist though, seems to know his way around a fretboard though (roughly). so at least it's not all in one position.

Yeah but he didn't have Richie Sambora in his band. Jon is even worse than Cobain, he struggles enough just playing the outro to Wanted and his solo is the low point in the otherwise amazing Santa Fe. If he wants to bring a guitar onstage to look cool then so be it but for ****s sake don't actually play the thing!

jon is a good musician just hasnt got the skill or speed to pull off whats goin in his head, as previously said jon does know his way around the fret board, and with 20+ years of experience its highly unlikey he d be so shit

jon can play rhythum guitar well just struggles with some lead but not all
