Erm, yes he does. He says that after the Greatest Hits it might be time to do the same thing they did after These Days and that's just each of them going their own way to do their own stuff, to get back together with fresh views and fresh ideas.

Salaam Aleikum,

For those who can't be bothered watching til the end of the interview...

He talks about how in 1990 they didnt break up, they just needed a short break, but in 1996 they needed to go their seperate ways. He then says that after 5 albums in a decade he believes they may need to go their seperate ways again for a bit... even though he says he doesnt know what the future holds.

Will be sad with no Jovi for a while but it's what they need. Im hoping for a 3 year break max :P

Personally i would welcome a break, especially if it means that jon and richie go out and explore some solo material and tour. It would make a nice change, also they may come back with different less poppy records after the break.

***after that greatest hits - then he resumed what they did 5 studio albums - he said there might be a time wow ... we are wise now we are wise men ***

from jon's mouth I would say I don't hear anything special anything he has not said often - a real long break is barely hinted it he talked about the past career but didnt say much about the future beside there might be a time * with the sound of him taking his breath* .

Jon said on USA tv (I think it's around 2004) he hated touring when he bought his footbal team toy looked gutted like touring was he least interest touring was sh!t then they toured in 2005/2006 (with box set and this left feels right in between)

Ok he hinted there won't be a studio album in a few months but he didnt say much ...must be that I don't take anything Jon says too seriously

I HOPE FOR A LONG BREAK but ....

I think the majority of us hope for a long break, but it can't bee TOO long. Jon himself said recently that he doesn't want to be touring in his 60's like the Rolling Stones. If they take 3-5 years off, (after 2011 and the end of the tour), Tico will be like 60, Richie will be in his mid 50's and Jon and Dave will be in their early 50's. That might not mean much of anything, but still. Who knows how much further Jon wants to go and how much the other guys do too. They are pursuing that big post-IML hit, so maybe if somehow that comes within the next year, things could turn out different. If they git another big hit, maybe the guys will feel complete and just take it easy from here on out.

What I don't get is if Jon hates touring so much, why is he doing this 2 year 100+ show tour?

it means don't trust what jon says he is very 'emotional' he says what he thinks at the moment and minutes later think differently ... he did say he hated touring in a very nasty rude way for a philly tv in 2004 I was so shocked it was such a slap in the face to the music fans (he asked support for his team by the way)
Jon was talking to an argantinian tv in NYC .. the message was clear to me .... BUY TICKETS because you never know when they will be back ... but jon said to the chilean (via bonjovi facebook page ) we cannot wait to go back ... hmmmm

jon is just a guy that is easy to read through on the moment everything he says has a 'reason' that is fitting his mood

you are right they cannot take a too long break because they are not as huge as the stones where they can be successful even without a good album for bon jovi if they stay away too long they may also get just nostalgia band and not interest anyone they are trapped into a real dilemma step away and recharge their creative batteries or stick around to not get forgotten .... I think Jon could work like that again but he maybe cannot book the guys at the moment they all want some time off ...

Who knows? I'm picking up like 3 messages from him.

1. "We want to take a couple years off."
2. "We like making new stuff so much it'll be hard to leave."
3. "I tell people I hate touring, but I really kinda like it, so we won't break."

I don't think even Jon knows what Jon wants to do.

OH YES! I hope all the Gods are listening to you. This is probably my biggest wish...a new Richie solo album.

The message I've gotten from Jon (and everyone else in the band) is that the hate the traveling and being away from their homes and families, but they like performing on stage. So it depends on what aspect of touring that you're talking about what answer they'll give.

I hope they won't take a really long break. I like what they've been doing so I don't see a need for any drastic changes in direction.
