Jon In Direct TV Commerical

I truly believe in my heart that this is not the BJ sound for the new album. Jon has been through a lot these past couple of years, and as he said himself in the last Runaway Tour show where he talked about the new album, he said that "inner pain comes great writing" or something like that. Maybe this Direct TV commercial might be for a future project, maybe a special show, interview, who knows what Jon and the band are working on behind the scenes right now, of course I am just purely speculating, but I wouldn't worry about this "jingle" is the new BJ sound.

It could go either way at this point... Jon suffered a lot of heartache so maybe Turning Back Time is a real title with different lyrics and I would hope for a better production and vocal as well too...

How much would that suck????

Don't worry Rdkopper, I think Jon and the band are going to surprise us all with this new album, and Jon has been pretty secretive about this one, of course we will see in the fall.

You have to actually care in order to be worried. I think we'll be surprised by a few and disappointed by others in typical post 2K fashion. I thinking somewhere between HAND and TC...

I actually do care about the band, but I am not worried, I believe this will be a great album and different than other BJ albums. The only thing we can do is just wait, because speculating or guessing how the sound will be like, or comparing this new album to other past albums is only going to make us more crazy, and when the album does come out and it does not fit your standards, u will be disappointed and throw in the towel completely on this band. I think many here have the attitude of hope for the best, but prepare for the worst, why not just simply wait and not think about it , when the new single comes out later this year, then we can judge, critique, analyze, u know, the normal things u guys do here. And just so u know, if I feel that this new album is not the best album and not one of my favorites, I will feel a little sad, but I would not through in the towel on the band neither.

The theory that this could be the first single is too much of a stretch for me, although the theme of turning back time does parallel with what Jon has said in interviews about the recording process of the new album. But I think that's likely just a coincidence. However, "The power to something," like Rd suggested, sounds just like Jon and could be a very real possibility though.

I would not be surprised if the sound of the new album is similar to this jingle. How many times have you heard a demo and known exactly which album's writing/recording session it came from? I think the creation of songs that compliment each other for an album is centered around a certain sound, and if another random song is written around that same time, I don't think it should be all that surprising if that random song has the same sound.

Or maybe this is all overanalyzation it's just a dumb jingle for a dumb TV commercial.

This. I think people are WAY over thinking it. I don't know why Jon would debut the first single in a direct tv campaign months and months before it drops.

Exactly my same thoughts Captain_Jovi, you guys are way too overanalyzing this Direct TV commercial, lets remember, it is a COMMERCIAL!!
