i think jon stopped taking drugs when he stopped writing masterpieces. i also think that the story about quiting drugs at 14 is as real as britney spears' (ex)virginity.

I would find it very strange if Jon and the rest of Bon jovi didn't do some drugs during the 80'. That sounds a bit too good to be true.

Interesting point of view.

Amphetamine, sure. But that was hardly the question asked. Obviously it was about hard drugs. When people ask me if I do drugs, I don't say "Yah, this Advil stuff kills my headaches"

I don't think amphetamine is a weak drug.

It's not but it's hardly something like cocaine.

That You Tube link is misleading. That's taken from Gente de Expressao, a Brazilian interview done in Pittsburgh, PA. on the KTF tour. It's probably the best, most in depth, revealing interview Jon has ever done. I happen to have it at hand because I converted it to DVD a few months ago.

THE REST OF THE QUOTE:

Have you ever taken drugs?

Sure.

What kind?

I experimented. I tried pot & cocaine, ya'know.

Are you still?

Never. No. I haven't done it in so many years.

In parts of the interview he talked about Alec being high on stage in Rio and having to get help, about Tico having to dry out, about losing his virginity at the age of 12 or 13, about his faith in God, his marriage, the burnout of the band, how only the people in the band know what the band goes through, etc. He was laying it out there, whatever she asked. Jon has always maintained the story that he tried drugs when he was very young, had a bad experience, was hospitalized, and was too afraid to touch the stuff again. He has never denied using steroids to get through the SWW and NJ tours and has told how they had to inject the stuff right into his vocal chords and how they made him bloated and miserable.

Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking for. Someone obviously cut up the interview to make Jon out to be a liar, but what else is new.

You know, what you said is true. Whoever uploaded that clip obviously would have the WHOLE clip, so it had to take actual EFFORT to leave out the next 5 seconds where Jon flat out, adamantly denied present drug use.

he also maintained the same story in the Behind the Music episode, saying that he "never was a drug user."
