Yeah, but isnt saying "whatever will sell tickets/records" at least a little bit questionnable considering the fact that, in Jon's case, this implies deliberate lying!?
And saying that "that's just the way it is", doesnt exactly make it correct, does it!?

So looking at the way Jon is behaving, people have every right to critisise his behaviour without being called an arsehole or other rude things.
You're an arsehole too

So has Jon the exact same right to be criticised without being called an asshole full of shit. Don't you see that? I don't get it.

And again? Why did you join this board in 2007 then? You're a sad whiner.

But is Jon really lying?? They have played three or four two and a half to three hour shows on this tour so far. Most of them clock in around two fifteen but Jon never said they would play that long every night, therefore, not lying.

Changing the setlist can mean as little as changing what cover song they play to putting five or six different songs in a set. They have done that, and since Jon never said how much the setlist would change, again he's not lying.

I believe the quote when asked about continuing on in the vein of LH was "I;m very happy with this record, I love singing it, I'm glad it's been so well recieved, and IF I had to make that decision today then sure" Notice the IF, meaning since he doesn't it's not relevant to what they may do next.

Jon explicitly says "The shows are 2,5 to 3 hours long."
Now if he only meant 3 or 4 out of 31 shows played so far, the phrase "a few shows" would have certainly been a lot closer to the truth.

Jon says "Man, everything from the first record to the most recent one."
when they havent played anything from 7800 in years. Apart from that, Jon doesnt even talk about changing the setlist every night in this particular interview. I am well aware that he has said this before though

I dont see that, because Jon and Seb are critisised for two entirely different things: Seb for his critical interpretation af Jon's statements (i.e. for his opinion) and Jon for not telling the truth = lying.

More generally speaking, in order to survive in todays music business (maybe any business?), it seems more necessary and helpful to "say whatever will sell tickets/record" instead of telling the truth. Maybe thats just showbiz, I really dont know. I find it majorly annoying though.

Stating prety much all the setlists are shit as if the setlists need to be Seb-approved and stating Jon is full of shit are not critical interpretations of the truth.

Does anyone on this board like John Mellencamp. He's always had fiddle in his records and they were always classified as "rock". Country music, does bring with it, country instrumentation, not so much fiddle but more so with peddle steel guitar and banjo.

And as Lynn (rainsong) pointed out, Jon was asked IF he had to make the decision today to record another country record would he. Well....he's not making the decision today, so who knows.

I agree Brian and I don't think those that listen to country music think so either and that's why to date none of the songs from LH has been a hit on country radio.
