Sounds like you want to get a grip on Jon's manhood.

Since Wasting Light came out (the Foo fighters record) I got into their music and what struck me was how passionate Dave was about his music and music in general, be it onstage or in interviews. Then take our beloved Jon, you can tell he's a bored, soulless android.

For instance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oojzmjJ3ugE
Yeah. Dave is the guy who would have been involved in music whatever happened. If he never got famous he'd still be touring with some bar band or something. If Jon didn't take off back in the 80's he'd probably be a hair dresser now. His passion is money.

Dave Grohl doesn't seem to take himself too seriously, but he takes the music very seriously. Writing a ton of songs per album, letting the rest of the band have their say, still going to concerts and checking out bands, interacting with the fans.... all that.

JBJ takes himself pretty seriously, but considering the band's approach to making albums lately, I'd say it's not exactly warranted.

Are you referring to the posters comments or JBJ? Please expand. I want to make sure that you are using this term correctly.

"Dissonance is aroused when people are confronted with information that is inconsistent with their beliefs. If the dissonance is not reduced by changing one's belief, the dissonance can result in restoring consonance through misperception, rejection or refutation of the information, seeking support from others who share the beliefs, and attempting to persuade others."
--> also true for Richie seeking support from his fans instead of realising that his solo effort wasn't really successful.

Jon's. Example: Band still insisting on WAN being a very successful album / tour while both were perceived quite badly. Another example: deleting negative comments on message boards to maintain a positive image.

Bon Jovi should name their next album Cognitive Dissonance.

Just watched it...

- First, when did Bon Jovi do Sounds Of Silence? I was thinking she was going to say Hallelujah or something like that.

- 2 Jon really understands music. I think he gives great advice and really gets it. I wouldn't doubt it if this was some sort of test to see how he would do as a judge for a future show.

- 3 I would like to see a little more personality out of Jon. This isn't a bash, just positive criticism. One of the problems with Jon's acting was, his personality was completely bland. He had his acting personality going on there. But then again, he needs to be very serious because this is those girls future he is assisting with.

- Finally, Jon pushing that girl at the end was a little awkward. I didn't really get that.

Overall, nothing special. I would have liked it better if they did Bon Jovi songs or even songs Bon Jovi knew and liked. Sounds Of Silence was the only arousal he got. When the girl said she was doing Katie Perry, Jon couldn't look less enthusiastic. I would love to see Jon as a full time judge but he needs to loosen up a little.

^I was thinking she'd sing Hallelujah as well, but Sounds Of Silence? I didn't know they covered that one either.
Pushing the girl, I think it was Joelle (can't stand her) was a bit strange, I didn't understand that, came across as looking a bit bullyish to me.
