So, it's an artist's fault if his/her fans are too stupid to think for themselves?

I get annoyed with entertainers getting involved in politics too, but the fact is it's their right to do so. As long as Jon or some other artist I PAY to see isn't telling me how to vote, I don't think they're crossing any ethical lines. Now, if I pay for a concert and get an ad campaign for a candidate (whether I agree or not), I will think they crossed a line. But what Jon is doing is free and/or clearly labeled as a political campaign. He's exercising his rights as a citizen to support his candidate.

Becky
Exactly!! I am not forced to listen to Jon if I choose not too, where at a concert I am. He is human too, and had a right to his opinion. Just as long as I am not FORCED to listen, I don't care.

Seriously though, Jon is just helping him out, not preaching for him on television or at concerts. I don't think it will influence anyone one way or another.
Bullsh1t, if it isnt going to influence anyone then the celebrities wouldn't fvcking do it. America is such a simple fvcking country: vote for Kerry because these famous people support him. What a bunch of fvcking idiots.

And Jon has his head up his own arse by agreeing to support him: "I am Jon Bon Jovi. If I show my support for him then maybe others will too".

It is nearly as bad as the whole arse fvcking relationship of religion and politics in the US.

Whatever you say KRB...whatever you say. BTW, if we only voted according to what the "famous people" want, George B. wouldn't have been elected nor any other Republican for that mattter.

You've got that right. The Presidential elections I've paid attention to have had the liberal media backing the Democratic candidate. I think the one exception to this would have been when George Bush ran in 1988, but then again, I was only 13 at the time and couldn't vote, so I didn't pay that much attention. Most famous people tend to be Democrats. It doesn't mean the backbone of the country feels the same way. What concerns me is that there are people stupid enough to vote based on what celebrities and late night talk show hosts say. But that's their own problem, not the problem of the celebrities. They have every right to support their candidates just like the rest of us.

when Jon was interviewed about Moscow in the AAA video, he said he was allowed into communist Russia because his political beliefs were kept a secret.
What a hypocrite.

He's gone the entirely opposite direction.

It's hypocritical to grow up? Do you think you'll care about the same things at 40 that you do at 25?

I suppose I don't even really care. Maybe I'll get some tv broadcasted videos of his performances on the John Bon Kerry Tour. I suppose the next album will feature a duet with Kerry, and a secret song explaining Jon's plans to run for President.
