imo, jon shouldn't get involved in politics like that. people might vote kerry because they are BJ fans, not because they really agree with kerry's motives. not sure thats a good thing
but that's the reason he (and kerry) does that. to influence more people. if someone is stupid enough to vote kerry just because jon says so that's their problem!
but he has the right to express his opinions and political views in public like all of us...

I don't think it is to influence people to think "ah Jon votes Kerry, I better vote Kerry too" as it draws more attention to Kerry. People may check out Kerry knowing celebrities endorse them. Then, they'll decide. So, in the end, it's just advertising and getting the attention of the most people. Statistically, the more people look into Kerry, the more will vote for him. If nobody knows Kerry, nobody will vote for him.

jon is a part of kerry's campaign. a political campaign is supposed to influence people and that is what jon does now one way or another.

People will come to watch Jon play(that will be the big draw to get them there), but first they will have to sit through Kerry talking about his policies. Jon is influencing people to come to this event and learn more about Kerry. How the people decide to vote after that, is up to them.

i agree that he wants more people to know kerry and he doesn't say "vote for kerry because that's what i will do" :P but that doesn't mean that he's not a part of his campaign. imo that's not opposite at all.
