People will come to watch Jon play(that will be the big draw to get them there), but first they will have to sit through Kerry talking about his policies. Jon is influencing people to come to this event and learn more about Kerry. How the people decide to vote after that, is up to them.
exactly what I meant.
i understood and i don't disagree. but jon is still is a part of kerry's campaign.
Yeah, you don't disagree, you just think the opposite
(no offense btw)

i agree that he wants more people to know kerry and he doesn't say "vote for kerry because that's what i will do" :P but that doesn't mean that he's not a part of his campaign. imo that's not opposite at all.
I know, I actually agree with you on this one.
As Mouse said herself, the more people see and know Kerry, the more will vote for him. If Jon is there to bring more people, then he's also there to bring voters. So he his helping the campaign.

Politics, politics, politics. If you want to talk about all this, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. LET IT ROCK!

If you got tickets, shouldn't it say where on there?

Or are you just going to see Jon and totally ignore the real purpose of this?

BTW, are you even registered to vote?

But being involved in the campain...then he says ..vote for Kerry.
Knowin he is a famous rockstar he`ll get lots of people asking themselves..Why does Jon pick Kerry? And those people will get involved and know about Kerry and maybe even vote. Don`t take me wrong every guy that can push Bush away is welcome, but politics and rockstars just don`t belong together...

If Jon (and Richie) can get everyone to support a silly American football team, im sure some people will be daft enough to vote for Kerry because Jon is supporting him. I don't agree with celebrities talking about politicans, in my eyes they are abusing their position in the public eye.

This performance by Jon is increasing the Democrats exposure to the public & increasing the audience they are exposed to. The whole idea of these rallies is to promote the democrats so why people are arguing it won't influence people is beyond me. Otherwise what would be the point of doing it?

Whether it'll influence anyone to change their votes is another matter. However it can only be a good thing if it detracts their vote from George "Ermm, it'll come to me in a minute" Bush.

rock music was meant to fight the "system" and kind of move the people through a spiritual guidance. i don't understand (i don't like :P ) what jon does but he has every right. after all people who vote are adults and are supposed to be conscious of what they vote.
so i think that politics and rock stars belong together but not in that way.
oh well... it could be worse... at least he doesn't support the republicans :P

There aren't many "entertainment people" that do.

Unless they are country music singers- or Arnold
I actually did read somewhere that Heather Locklear was also a Republican as is Bruce Willis so there are a few but they stay kind of quiet about it.
