I'd like to point out that this show is on from Midnight until 12:30 AM (central) on Saturday night/Sunday morning on an upstart cable network that many companies do not even carry. It is hardly a big promotional event, especially if the Christians they're supposedly trying to sell their next album to are all in bed asleep so they can get up and go to church bright and early the next morning. It's not like they're going to be on a mainstream popular program like The 700 Club or appearing at a Billy Graham Crusade. Now *that* would be marketing themselves to Christians.

I think this is being blown completely out of proportion to be honest.

I agree Becky. Personally, I'm not expecting alot from this program. It's only a half hour long and it's on late at night on some obscure channel. I seriously doubt that we're gonna get a taste of the new record or something.

None of us have seen the program or even heard of it before now so before we jump on the band for "selling out to christian tv" why don't we just see what the show is first?

Pffffft. They weren't even on tonight! The guide says something like "John Wesley Harding introduces four bands vying for a record contract. Guests include Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and Jude Cole."

I just e-mailed them to ask when/if that episode will air if it even exists!

lol very poor tv guide or whatver which announced them .... I am wondering if it is not related with the fact the album is delayed ..maybe they booked for stuff and now it's not fitting their schedule anymore as the album is not finished - just a thought

LOL, so isn't Christian TV like the lowest you can get?

Or as it is in the US it is the highest you can get?

This is some small channel on my dish network I've never even looked at it before now so I'm not sure what it really is, but even if it is a Christian based channel I'm not sure what the big deal is. Sellouts to what???

Maybe it was a favor for something in the charity world, maybe it was alot of things and just maybe it's Jon and richie passing on their knowledge and experiences with the business side of music to some young unsignedbands trying to find their way.

If they are trying to broden their audience so what??? U2 attached an entire album to an ipod to make it more attractive to the 18-25 crowd, to make it seem hip. Bon Jovi tries to add to their fanbase expose themselves to a different audience and they get accused of selling out , I don't get it. It's marketing a record to an audience period. Bon Jovi got a door open into a crossover genre with WSYCGH, and if they are trying to keep that door open I don't see the problem with it. It's not like the fact that they all seem to have faith, and believe in God in some form or fashion has been kept a deep dark secret for the last twenty five years and suddenly they are coming out of the closet with it or anything.
